The idea of being able to travel vast distances in only a few steps is a compelling one, and it's hard not to imagine that there is at least some work being done trying to discover ways to make it happen. As such, that makes the premise of "The Fold" all that much more believable: that a team of scientists being funded by DARPA has invented a portal that bends space-time to bring 2 points closer together, allowing a person to simply step across and be any distance away in an instant. Of course, something seems not quite right about the goings-on at the lab, and Mike Erikson is recruited to head there and investigate things. I won't tell you what happens from there, and I think the less one knows about it going into the book the better. Let's just say that things don't work out quite the way they want them to, and this winds up being one of the scarier, more suspenseful books I've read in a while. If I hadn't had to work in the mornings, I would have probably stayed up all night reading this one, it's that compelling. Easily the most entertaining book I've read in 2015 so far.

One Saturday, Odelia and Greg’s errands are interrupted when they see a dog trapped in a car on a hot day. They rescue the dog, but the dog’s owner is less than happy with them. She turns out to be former reality TV star Marla Kingston, and her husband is a client of the law firm where Odelia works. While he makes Odelia’s work life difficult, the man who stopped to help them winds up dead. What have Odelia and Greg gotten into now?
Any fan of this long running series will tell you to expect a fast-moving case, and that’s exactly what we find here as well. One of the complications that arises here involves a series regular; that part of the book will appeal most to fans of the series. Zee is a strong character in this book, and I always love seeing her, although all the series regulars get a scene or two to shine. A suspenseful climax caps another fantastic book.

You never know who will move in next door...
Hannah Mary McKinnon’s second novel, The Neighbors, is a domestic drama that explores past, lost, and present loves and what happens when they all collide.
They say to keep your friends close and your enemies closer, but what about your exes? Most people seem keen on keeping their exes as far away as possible. That’s a little hard to do when your ex happens to be your new next door neighbor. When Abby’s old flame, Liam, moves into the house next door she knows she’s in trouble. Both she and Liam are married to other people; however, the flame that existed between them has never fully burnt out. Thus, thing are bound to get messy.
Told in alternating points of view between Abby, her husband Nate, her teenage daughter Sarah, and Liam’s wife Nancy, this novel explores the traumatic events that have shaped Abby’s past and how they influence what is happening in the present day. The author doesn’t shy away from using heartbreak and dismay to highlight love affairs that have been and shouldn’t have been. At once suspenseful and sorrowful, The Neighbors explores the complexities of relationships and the consequences of withholding the truth from those you love.

Suspenseful, twisty, cannot put down
Emma and Cassandra were missing for 3 years. Some believed they were dead. Were the kidnapped? Murdered? Did they run away?
It starts out with a young Cassandra, Cass for short, telling about her mother and her older sister Emma. Her mother loved Cass more, and would often brush her hair and tell her how beautiful she was, while Emma was often denied love from her mother. Their mother would also ask them to tell her how beautiful she was. She needed to hear it frequently. They had a routine. When their parents split up, Emma told Cass to tell the courts they should live with their father and when she did, Emma did the opposite. Emma stood by her mother as a sort of betrayal to her sister. Now their mother loves Emma more and Cass is off to the side.
Cass tells about the day she disappeared, when she was 15, and her sister who also disappeared.
She was with Emma then, but now she's home. Alone. How is she going to tell people what really happened. She is very nervous. Has to get her story straight. What will people think? So where was Cass and What Happened To Emma?

Actually giving it a 4.5/5, well for this rating a 9.5/10
This movie nailed the suspense of what you can't see can hurt you. I loved this movie, even though I jumped, and got scared a bunch (shush I'm not a huge horror person okay geez) but my scared ass enjoyed this movie, and I'll definitely watch it again.
There's not too much to complain, just one major flaw so I'll start with that. The plot; it was good, except some major holes that could have been filled with all the baloney they were making to extend that plot point to keep it till later in the narrative.
Okay things I loved... Everything else! Lol the music was suspenseful, and sucked me into the craziness on the screen. It took me a bit to feel connected to our main characters, but once I did, I was all in. I jumped, a lot, but not just because of the couple jump scares, but because of the built suspense, and the beautiful camera pans of nothing.
But in the long run, though the plot does subtract final points, this is definitely a movie I will watch again, and you should go see it in theaters before it disappears.
