The main characters are sweet, they have to deal with real life problems (which would be good conversation starters) and they have hearts to save all different types of animals! I would definitely recommend reading it for middle school grade kids because of the length.
I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feed back from Just Read Tours. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

I liked certain parts of this and others kinda bored me.
Rudy was hard work and sometimes I thought he was really sweet and others he annoyed me a little, though I know that's a lot unfair. It isn't his fault after all. I really feel for Ellis in this too.
Jon was amazing for both of them and likewise Ellis was Jon's salvation.
That being said I'm not sure if I want to continue this series.

So this book has been on my kindle for 5 years. 5 long years, and it was definitely about time I read it. And I'm so glad I did! I stayed up until 1am last night and midnight tonight so I could finish it. I was hooked pretty quickly by the storyline, wondering what was going to happen with them. It was pretty sweet in the end. Just took them a long time.
