Heartwarming and fun
I have watched this so many times. It one of my favorite Christmas stories directed by Jim Henson.
When a poor otter family sees the opportunity of a town talent show to make some much needed cash, they seize on the opportunity.
The songs and morals in this short TV movie make this great fun for the whole family.
The songs from Paul Williams will keep you humming.

Maine style Dracula
2nd book from the great man based around vampires. Good story with decent characters and King already has found the ease of a seasoned writer as you are hooked very early on. As usual the book is better than the movie/TV series although that's worth a watch as it has David Soul (70's heart throb from Starsky & Hutch)as one of the leads.

1196 made-for-TV movie based on one of the last of the original run of Sharpe novels, set in 1814 during the peace of Amiens and in which Sharpe is framed for the theft of Napoleons treasure by his old enemy Ducos.
Meanwhile, his wife Jane travels back to London and embarks on an affair, after withdrawing all his money from the bank using the Power of Attorney he had given her prior to the Battle of Toulouse.

A young lad rides through the forest on a bike, when an invisible force pulls him off. A shot of the main characters house and the title of the movie appears......... Erm OK.... What?
Anyway, when the movie properly starts we are made aware that the husband and wife are having marital problems due to the wife having an affair. At work the husband is placed on the case of the missing boy from the start of the movie, and at home strange things are happening, windows are being broken, photos going missing, TV is turning on by itself and it is evident that someone or something is watching the family.
The first half of the movie is showing the strange things happening, whilst the second half of the movie is dedicated to explaining what is going on and quite frankly I lost interest very quickly.
I found the movie rather boring and uninteresting. The acting throughout was very wooden for the most part, which was very surprising for Helen Hunt as I've always found her good, but it seems her acting skills have withered away over the years. The music they tried too hard to make it sound eerie, that it just ended up sounding like it was put together by a trainee and to top it off nothing in the movie made sense. Overall it was awful, I was time watching the whole time wondering when it would be over.

Awix (3310 KP) rated Highlander 2: The Quickening (1991) in Movies

Which part of 'there can be only one' did the film-makers not get? Baffling sequel doesn't bother with an actual plot, settles for a succession of disjointed ideas and set pieces; barely makes sense on its own terms, is utterly incoherent if you consider the backstory established by the original movie.
Sean Connery chewing the scenery gives the film a certain appeal to lovers of ham acting; same is true of Michael Ironside. Christopher Lambert is still quite painful to listen to. Quite how the Highlander series managed to continue on for umpty-tump more sequels and TV episodes is a mystery: it is notable that this movie was quietly forgotten about and never mentioned again.

Don't Waste Your Time
My husband and I took our boys (aged 3 and 14) to see the new Grinch movie.
The graphics were really great. They were super colorful, and this movie does have a couple of cute characters like the chubby reindeer and Max, the dog. My 3 (nearly 4) year old was into this movie for about the first couple of minutes. Then he was ready to leave. He kept saying it was a mean movie. I guess he was talking about the Grinch. He just couldn't get into the movie no matter how hard I tried.
I was bored to death with The Grinch. I didn't find anything interesting about it. It dragged on and on. Don't get me wrong, there are a few funny moments, but the plot itself was lacking severely. My husband was also bored with this movie. My 14 year old loved it though. He thought it was really funny.
As I said previously, there were a couple of cute characters. However, the majority of characters were not that great. I found myself not caring about them, and I just couldn't connect with them. Cindy Lou Who and her friends were especially annoying.
My husband, myself, and my 3 year old ended up walking out of the movie about half an hour or so before it ended. We were just too bored to stay. My 14 year old carried on watching the movie until the end though.
All in all, I'd say avoid this movie. If you want to see it, wait until you can rent it on DVD/Blu Ray, or, even better, wait until it comes on tv.
