Natalie is fulfilling a life long dream by opening her bed and breakfast on Maine's Cranberry Island. However, she's hardly settled in when developers appear on the island looking to take over. Then a murder happens. It took me a bit to get into the book, but once I got a feel for the island, I was hooked.

Don't watch this is you have a daughter!
Really enjoyable film although a little slow at the start. It's definitely not an action packed take on the genre but that adds to its charm. Some cracking performances given and an interesting commentary on the world's political stance which was unexpected.

Smart and strategic
My fiance and I went to have a board game night with some friends the other day and were introduced to this game. It didn't take me long to catch on to the rules, and as the game progressed, I started to pick up more on point value and different types of strategy. By the end, I was wanting to start over and play again.

A Clockwork Orange (1971)
1971 | Crime, Sci-Fi

"A Clockwork Orange, of course, was like the ultimate film for an adolescent to see. I watched [Malcolm McDowell’s] performance in that, and it had such an impact on me that I would glue an eyelash on my eye and then go to school with one eyelash. My father really lost his patience with that one. He said, “You gotta take that eyelash off. You’re not going to school like that.”"

More soundtrack music from the Toy Story man. I know that is a little easy to say, but all the songs just sound like that to me. One interesting thing to note was he wrote You Can Leave Your Hat On, later made famous by Joe Cocker and again by Tom Jones, albeit very different versions to Newman's take on it.

3.5 stars.

Initially I had a little trouble getting into the story but the more I read, the more I liked it. The storyline was a little crazy but I've grown to like Night. He really is being the Absolute Boyfriend.

To me, it's obvious that the next door neighbour likes our girl, but she's being a bit oblivious at the minute.

And then that last page! Her "friend" of all people!

It has definitely made me intrigued enough to carry on the series. It's only in 6 parts so I wouldn't think it would take me too long to finish it. BUT I have a few other things on the go right now, so I may wait until I've finished those to carry on with it.

About what I expected - It made me laugh.
Take Baywatch (2017) for what it is. It is a movie based on a bad - though much loved - TV show from the 80s and 90s. This is not some huge dramatic movie. It is not supposed to be Johnson's or Efron's chance at an Oscar run. It is just a fun movie. I enjoyed it. There are some very funny moments and the cameos from The Hoff and Pam Anderson were perfect.

It normally takes me a day or 2 to finish these types of books. This is me giving up after 2 weeks! So boring. I just felt that the book went on and on and about the money, I'm over 50% in and we still know next to nothing, still talking about where the money COULD be from... I can't take it anymore. I'm avoiding reading just so I don't have to listen to this anymore and that is when I realised I needed to just quit else I will still be stuck on this book in July when I could be reading something I actually enjoy.

Bill Plympton recommended Dead Alive (1993) in Movies (curated)

Dead Alive (1993)
Dead Alive (1993)
1993 | Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi

"The next one would be Dead Alive by Peter Jackson. Again, another animated cartoon with live actors, and this is a film that really showed me how you can take a violent, dark situation and make it comic. Lots of blood, lots of decapitation, lots of violence, and yet it’s a comedy. That was a big influence on me when I started doing I Married a Strange Person!. I really referred a lot to Dead Alive."
