"I’ll pair this with Mouchette, because they are beautiful, and if I remember right they were released only a year apart, an anomaly for filmmaker Bresson whose films often had many years between their respective release dates. I tried to go to college; in fact, I did go but did not come very close to completing a degree. The highlight of my attempt at formal higher learning was a seminar led by Michael Silverman on the movies of Robert Bresson. At the first meeting of the seminar, Silverman told us that he was still intrigued, confused, and puzzled by Bresson’s movies, even years into the experiences of witnessing them. So, he said, we would take this opportunity again to explore together their density and power. Balthazar and Mouchette slayed me, maybe Balthazar most of all because I identified more with the ass that was Balthazar than the angel that was Mouchette. Both movies are pitiless and intensely compassionate. They say, “This is how bad it is. Let us love until the end.”"

"It's a perfect record. Succinct, sad, melodic, definitely its own thing. The simplicity of it was a big thing for me, that music that simple can also be really moving… I think a lot of the simplicity of it might be to do that he was having a hard time and couldn't get it together to do anything particularly complicated, but it is a wonderful record. Just doing enough and never overblowing anything works so well. Has my music taste changed? I've always listened to quite loud and quite quiet music so I don't think getting older has changed it that much, not that I can think of. I think Belong is the only quite new record on this list, which is a bit fogeyish, but I guess you have to take a long time to know if something really is the best ever. Some of these lists you look down and they say 'best album of all time - number three, The Strokes!' No, wait, something has happened here. There is a disturbance in the force."

When the devil comes to town...
Contains spoilers, click to show
First began watching this a few months ago as had very little to do during isolation, I had been avoiding it as the shows title just made me think, it's the devil...seen enough about that, always the same...but was intrigued by the character during a brilliant Cameo in a CW arrowverse event"crisis on infinite earths" and decided to check it out.

The sarcasm from the moment Lucifer appears and his delightful antics throughout the show gave the character a complete new look and feel which was welcoming.

The show follows Lucifer who has decided to leave hell and take a permanent vacation to L.A. as a nightclub owner and a smooth talking bachelor.
During his time there a murder of a close associate entwines the lives of Lucifer and hard working detective Chloe decker.
Lucifer eventually becomes chloe's volunteer assistant enjoying the thrill of crime solving which becomes more and more interesting with every case...with Lucifer not taking crime solving seriously.

Harold's hum-drum life take an unexpected turn when he finds himself in Mexico, recently single, possibly jobless, and on the wrong side of a cartel boss.

I have to say, the first few minutes of this film were quite possibly my favourite... Harold (David Oyelowo) singing in his car... yep. That's how I start every morning and it just made me smile.

I like the fact that the trailer didn't give away any of the twist for this one. It made for a nice surprise and amusement. It was a nice little film, but I'd put a vote in for more Harold and Mitch (Sharlto Copley) time and less of everyone else. The pair made a great little double act. And while there was at least a good ending for Harold, I'm surprised that they didn't give him a little more romance. When the film ended, while satisfied, I did wonder if they just gave it the ending they did just so they could say they didn't go with the cliché one.

I didn't really know what to expect when I decided to watch this movie. I followed wrestling quite extensively when I was a kid and I had sort of dabbled in fandom ever since. I have a reasonable amount of knowledge as far as who the stars are and what's going on in the wrestling world.

When I heard that this was being made I was intrigued to say the least. A bio pic about the early career of superstar Paige. With Nick Frost in support? YES, PLEASE.

While the movie did take some liberties, as all biopics do, the fundamental story was solid. It made me genuinely feel heartache at times and I actually found myself rooting for Paige along the way. I became officially invested, which isn't always easy to do with this kind of movie.

Even if you are a glancing fan of wrestling, or ever have been, this is worth a watch. Some slight insight into the behind the scenes stuff that you don't see during the telecasts.

Dante Valdez was the ultimate Bad Boy. Men feared him and women wanted him. A series of events tests his careful control and a forbidden woman tempts his most dominant desires. An undercover assignment threatens to expose more than just what lies beneath his clothes. His perfectly orderly world is thrown into chaos, hilarity ensues, and his friends are there to add in the hijinx. Join him as he shares his story of humiliation, humor, and hope.

While I really enjoyed this book which is Dante’s and lissa’s story it didn’t entertain as much as book 1. There were some funny bits especially the first scene at the strip club with Marco I did really chuckle it didn’t quite live up to Alex and his bent dick 🙈😂.
Saying this I really thought this story was sweet and Dante can take me on a date like that anytime!
I’m looking forward to seeing what Logan can bring to the series next.
