The boy (Jim), who is not a boy, and the old man (Griel), live and work on a wind farm out at sea. Land seems to be a distant memory, and escape from the wind farm seems unlikely. The boy is required to take over his fathers contract after he disappears. The old man might know what happened to him, but the boy never really asks, and no information is volunteered.
This has been compared to The Road and Waiting For Godot, and I’d agree with both of these. There is an overwhelming feeling of being trapped, even though they are out at sea and can see for miles, and this brought Huis Clos by Jean Paul Sartre to mind for me. Two men, trapped for what feels like eternity in the same place, with no hope of escape.
It’s a climate change story as well. It tells of the power of the sea and water, and how it will reclaim everything. This makes the story all the more futile. What’s the point if it’s all for nothing anyway?
I liked this book - I would say that it wasn’t a book I loved, but at the same time, it was a book that I didn’t want to put down. It’s a pretty bleak story, but compelling all the same.

*I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publishers in exchange for an honest review*

This book must have one of the shortest blurbs but one of the most intriguing, When I saw this book I instantly knew that I wanted to read it, there so much mystery in that blurb – I wanted to know why she was in a coma, why her husband didn’t love and what she lied about and if these lies were the reasons she was in a coma.

For a debut novel this absolutely fantastic, very absorbing, gripping and has you on the edge of your seat the whole way through, I truly am excited to see what this very talented writer is going to come up with next.

I am not going to write anything about the story as i think it will take some of the allure away. All you need to know is that you will be trying to second guess what is going and trying to reveal the truth. There are so many twists and turns in this book,if you are anything like me when I got to the plot twist I had to read it a few times to get my head round it.

This novel was dark, gritty and a great mystery/thriller novel.

I have always loved the way Melanie Dickerson can take a fairy tale and weave in scripture and faith seamlessly. Our leading characters in The Noble Servant are faced with so many trials. But through the hard things they face, they allow God to change their hearts. To mold them into a better person. And if it wasn't for their worlds falling to pieces around them. It is possible that their paths would not have led them to each other.

In the midst of chaos it can be hard to see God's blessings. To put your trust in God when your world falls apart can be easier said than done. Yet time after time (at least for me personally) He always has a way of making something beautiful blossom from the ashes of what once was.

This book has adventure, deceit, romance, betrayal, and a twist on The Goose Girl that is sure to captivate you. I love the friendship that Steffan and Magdalen build. Trust, honor, truth, "Chivalrous to the core." As they both undergo a transformation set in motion by their circumstances, their relationship grows and their trust in God's plan does too.

I received a complimentary copy of The Noble Servant through NetGalley.I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

"I remember hearing a PJ Harvey song, it might have been ‘Down by The Water’, and thinking ‘this is wicked, I’m gonna buy some of her music!’ At that age I had pocket money, about five pounds, so I went to this music shop in Exeter, found the PJ Harvey section, and all they had was this cheap cassette of 4-Track Demos. I was learning the drums around that time, and listening to the drums in a way I’d never done before, getting obsessive about it. I bought this PJ Harvey record, I put it on and thought ‘OK, the drums are gonna come in soon!’, but of course they never come in, it’s all demos. It was insanely disappointing! But I’d payed the money for this record, so I listened to it, and it became this educational thing for me of understanding that this was part of writing a song. Comparing the demos to the finished tracks, it was an interesting thing to hear and I think the most important thing I’d take from it is investing in something that deprives you of the one thing you were really excited about. It’s a good lesson, but completely unplanned, an interesting exercise to realise that the thing I feel is the most important thing, is not."

Over and Over Again
Happy Death Day 2U- should of been good, but in actuality it wasnt. The whole mult-veruse concept just didnt please me. I didnt like it at all. I fell like it didnt fit and it was basically the whole movies length time. So without it you wouldnt have the movie. Take away the mult-veruse concept and focus on the other charcter and why he is going through the same day without the mult-veruse than the movie would be good. It should of just been a mystery thriller slasher film and thats it. Other than that the movie is okay.

The plot: Collegian Tree Gelbman wakes up in horror to learn that she's stuck in a parallel universe. Her boyfriend Carter is now with someone else, and her friends and fellow students seem to be completely different versions of themselves. When Tree discovers that Carter's roommate has been altering time, she finds herself once again the target of a masked killer. When the psychopath starts to go after her inner circle, Tree soon realizes that she must die over and over again to save everyone.

Like i said its a okay movie, i recordmend just watch the first movie and thats it.
