LucyB (47 KP) rated The Age of Bowie in Books

Interesting angle for a Bowie biography
At first, I wasn't so sure about this biography. It seemed too focused on the author, not enough on Bowie himself.
However, once it got going, it was great! A really novel take on the biography format, almost veering into fiction in places, which might not be for everyone, but I personally thought it worked very well.
Did I learn anything new? No. However, I enjoyed it immensely, and in places, it made me view David Bowie in a new light. I very much enjoyed it.

I loved this book and I wasn't sure I would. It took me a couple of chapters to get in but once I did I was hooked. This became a book I could not put down and read it at every opportunity and now it has finished I NEED to read the second book in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone.
I really invested in Honey as Hamin and admitted her strong personality and never being beaten. I wasn't sure how much more she could take. I felt like I was on the journey with Honey. Not many books take me on that kind of journey.
I really felt like I could hear the characters and I got a really good insight into what type of person they were based on the author's writing.
As I mentioned I was not sure I would like this book from reading the blurb and I am so glad I did.
I can't wait to read the next book

Britt Smith (36 KP) rated WolfCop (2014) in Movies

Wolfcop is one of those movies that is really, really fun to watch and turns great if you've got a few beers in you (or, if like me, you enjoy a good b-rated movie that doesn't take itself seriously). It has a start that makes you wonder if you made the right choice, but it's outlandish and enjoyable enough to be a fun watch. It's a great take on the usual werewolf story. They've got some really great scenes in there, and the use of practical effects is admirable enough to warrant some serious props. No cheap CGI here, just some good ol' effects.
It was good enough to make me interested in the sequel, which is saying something for b-rated movies.

Wow!

I have read all Ms Diamond's books and they are all phenomenal. This one as usual has good characters and great villains but what she does brilliantly is take you on a journey that emotionally challenges you on every level.
A woman is found in the water and trying to solve the mystery of why she was there and the intricacies of her life and who tried to he her take our two main detectives on a very awkward and heart wrenching journey. Something happens which is particularly shocking but the author handles it very well indeed with respect but also showing the emotional trauma involved.
I would highly recommend those who like police procedural to read this series. Start at the beginning with The Teacher, really, you'll thank me later!

Loved Blake and CJ
I think I just found my new favorite self help book!
These master plans are perfect for me! I just know l'll go from single
to married by the end of the summer! Seriously for a moment, Jenn Hype's books never fail to make me laugh but she's stepped her game up with this one. It took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. It has everything I've come to expect from s Hype book: A hawt hero , a take no prisoners heroine ...OK maybe one prisoner, and a cast of side characters that keep the party moving. And did I mention funny? I should have because that's a Jenn hype staple and it's definitely within these pages.

BobbiesDustyPages (1259 KP) rated Marvel's Jessica Jones - Season 1 in TV
Mar 14, 2018
film noir style (3 more)
amazing character development
strong female characters
perfect casting
She'll kick your ass, steal your wallet and all without spilling her drink
Jessica Jones Season 1 was such an amazing take on the comic books and really just gave me what I've been missing from the Marvel Universe. Krysten Ritter was not someone I would have picked to play Jessica Jones but she took the role by the horns and really just blew me away.
The show has some of the not only best female characters I've come across but has some of the best relationships between female characters which a lot of tv shows and movies miss out on for some reason.
For me though David Tennant was just the one that stole the entire show every time he was on screen he just drew you in and you just could not look away from him.

Best of the Nolan films and second only to Batman Returns for me.
I can honestly say that the opening scene alone is enough to give this movie a 10 star rating, for me it is hands down the best opening to any movie I've ever seen.
Heath Ledger's Joker stole the entire movie the sheer depth and realness he brought to the character even to this day even though I've seen this movie a dozen times still just blows me away. He takes the Joker to such a high tier and honestly noone's ever going and a top him for me. Bale's take on Batman/Bruce is good but not a favorite for me. The rest of the cast is wonderful as well and they all just play off each other so well.
