"Kiarostami has spooky power. The wind, the dust, passersby, stray sounds, even your attention—they all slow down and fall into his rhythm. He seems able to control everything inside and outside the frame, and it’s all poetry. Taste of Cherry was my introduction to him. It’s a very sad and beautiful film about life via death. I’ll think about the coda for a long time. I’m also a big fan of The Wind Will Carry Us, Where Is the Friend’s Home?, and Close-up."

"Tennessee Williams’s short stories are eclipsed by his plays, but they are by no means outclassed. His ear for dialogue, his eye for character and his dramatic gifts are as powerful in his stories as they are in his plays. Like the plays, the stories are flavored with a connoisseur’s taste for the strange and bizarre, including cannibalism, incest, rape, castration, nymphomania, alcoholism and murder. My favorite among the stories is the fiendish “Desire and the Black Masseur,” but there are many, many runners-up."

Huh, I think I expected more from this. I really enjoyed [b:Finding Sky|8314214|Finding Sky (Benedicts, #1)|Joss Stirling|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1285772371s/8314214.jpg|13163404] but it has been a year or so since I read it and admittedly my taste in books changes fairly often. I never really gelled with this one and I struggled to get into the story or to like the characters. I persevered but I never really enjoyed it.

Might avoid this author's books for a while.

If you want Netflix on the go then download this app. With the ability to download certain films and tv programmes and enable you to watch whenever you want, you will be hard pushed not to find something to your taste.
Being a cineaste, Netflix doesn’t cater for everything. If you would like to see tv series from the 60s or 70s or a film pre-1980s, then you will find it difficult but for modern audiences, this is a treat.
The layout is a little wild for my taste in apps and it is not immediately accessible for fine tune searching but if you know what you are looking for, you won’t have a problem.
Netflix is pushing their own films and tv series more now (and not a bad thing because fortunately a lot of it is high quality) so keep this in mind if you are not yet a member and look on Smashbomb or other websites for recommendations on what to watch.
