The first half of this movie is a 10... once they hit the island AMAZING, then slowly downhill from there.

So I watched this movie one night, not expecting much but a show of primal force against modern technology and got exactly what i was looking for, but better than I expected. the foreboding on the island it palpable and delicious... The exotic species and fantastical creatures are appropriate and amazing. Really gets the imagination going. John C Reilly really rescues the ending in a lot of ways and makes it tolerable. Still a worthy watch.

Original Vampire Film

A very cool, unique and classy vampire film. It's 9 years from now and nearly everyone is a vampire. However with not so many humans around producing blood the vampires are starving and becoming more like mindless bat-like creatures. Is there a way to save both vampires and humans?
I really like the ideas behind the vampire world and how life and technology has adapted to their needs. A good cast, slick visual effects, some bloody scenes and a pretty good story that is more original than most, move this towards the top of the food-chain for Vampire films!

A very good bleak look at the future. A well made film, with a good cast. I found it a little slow to get going, but the modern look of London was interesting and technology. The best scene was a battle scene in a run down part of town as the activists clashed with the military. All the while Clive Owen is dodging bullets and trying to protect the only child on earth. It really draws you into the thick of a battle, caught in the middle trying to stay alive. After all the build up I felt the film finished a bit short, not the conclusion I was hoping for.

Great Adventure

So many people said this movie had no plot and was just an excuse to use technology to create a raging monkey. First of all the plot is great. Second you have Samuel L Jackson. Third King Kong isn't even about having the best plot. It's about the wow factor. Between the king himself and all his little surprise friends this turned into an incredibly high action adrenaline rush that I wish I'd seen at the theater. If you stop looking for every movie to have profound meaning and let yourself enjoy the fantasy element you'll absolutely love this.

I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very intriguing idea the whole nature/nurture thing but for some reason a lot of times the book just fell flat for me. There were a few moments where Addie's notions about life were challenged and I would have loved to see him interacting more with these ideas and technology.

Addie's is great for an unlikable narrator. Maybe a little too good? I don't exactly get the feeling that he'd actually changed that much by the end of the book.
