Walks the line

Punk 57 is a cute, edgy, realistic love story about two teenagers. It walks the line between sweet and sexy. The plot was interesting, the tension was thick, the intimate scenes were h-o-t. Overall, I truly enjoyed this book. I love a story that doesn't feel overplayed, one that makes me forget I'm reading about high schoolers and makes it easy to see the characters as just people. Ryen and Misha didn't experience Insta-love, thank goodness, but there was a quickly building attraction between the two of them that I most definitely could forgive!

Well, that was a bit of a rollercoaster!!

An emotional read that has plenty of turns that lead you on a fantastic journey. Fear and anxiety are a constant throughout, not only for the characters but it was for me too. The thought of going through what these children/teenagers go through is mind blowing for me, the strength they show is brilliant.

I'm so glad it's part of a series as there's a bit of a cliffhanger at the end!
I would definitely recommend this awesome book, not for children though, as there are a few graphic descriptions that could upset them.

I've never been so confused with an audiobook. I don't really know why, either.

There's not much of a plot going on – just a group of teenagers from random parts of the world (I think) banding together to take down a major company while figuring out how a terrorist fits in with it all. If you want a shorter version, it's a group of teenagers coming together to take down a monopolizer.

On a Clear Day is probably better to listen to than actually reading the book. There are some parts that are read rapid fast, but Rebecca Soler is an amazing narrator. Like Amanda Dolan in Red Queen, the story is narrated realistically and it was just far more enjoyable to listen to. I felt like I was listening to a recording of a conversation (that might actually be very accurate).

The narration might have been why I even completed the book. Maybe the heat is getting to me (not likely), but I feel like I'm just chugging along and nodding without interpreting anything going on. I don't feel like I know much about any of the group of teenagers aside from what they're well-known for – chess prodigy, math/computer whiz, athlete, musician, etc.

I feel like I'm reading the middle of a stand alone series where I'm supposed to know all the major characters really well and Myers can just focus on developing the plot. The points to the point disappeared somewhere. The end feels like a pause that Myers will never get around to. It's a happily ever after with loose ends and an unknown future.

C-8 had backed off from acquiring another company. For now.

I received Time Travel: Dinosaur by Matt Youngmark for free in exchange for a review. When I found out I won this book I was excited. I grew up reading Choose Your Own Adventure books and I felt that this book would have the opportunity to throw me back to sitting on the floor in the library with my friends reading for hours on end. This book most definitely did except this time I was sitting in my bathtub soaking my soak body after a long day at work.

The book is witty yet it causes the reader to think beyond the story, it causes the readers imagination to run wild and imagine as if they are in a jungle somewhere, to running for their life from a dinosaur to being an actual dinosaur to spending time on the moon with cops. The goal is to save the original timeline and you are able to do this through time travel.

There is some profanity used in this book, so while it appears to be perfect for children I believe it is aimed more for readers who are teenagers because of language use. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I hope teenagers and other adults who want a revamped choose your own adventure book to spark their imagination and entertain them for several hours.

Origami Jewelry by Mayumi Jezewski is a book about beautiful origami jewelry that gives easy to follow instructions. The jewelry style are for all ages. Some for kids. Some for teenagers. Some for young adults. Lastly, some for adults. The jewelry will not last for ever but what I like most is that it can be made to fit your style. It am not very good at origami but I found it fun to create some of the jewelry.

I received an advance reader edition of this book from Dover Publications via NetGalley for the purpose of providing an honest review.

Good character development and believable. (0 more)
Some of the dialogue is a bit repetitive. (0 more)
This novel was gripping from the start! I love the way it captivated the reader without giving away one of the major plot points until 3/4 of the way in. The characters were realistic and believable, made all the more impressive because most are teenagers. The situations they find themselves in and issues they encounter were relatable in the sense that it was entirely probable that would be the way they think, act, speak and behave. The only downside is that, at times, the dialogue was a bit repetitive. All in all, a real page-turner.

I don't think I've ever read a book with so many different perspectives, so that alone was definitely new to me. Each story was heart-wrenching. Reading how easy it was for these teenagers to fall into the dark pit of sex and drugs the way they did scares me, makes me scared for our children (MY child). There is evil in every corner of the world and Tricks shows not only how much evil there is, but how easily a person can be persuaded to turn toward the depraved acts these children were forced into. My heart bled for all the characters that were affected.

I enjoy dolphins. I was happy to watch this movie on netflix. It was done okay. Though it seems to be a story about a daughter and a father. I do not know what the plot is really about. It was fair movie in that case.

Though there seems to be part of the dolphin what they can teach us in their ways. The cast was good. I would watch with children. There a little drinking and I would only allow children around 13 with this movie. Other then that it find. Teenagers around 13 an up is good for this movie. I would let parents decide for their children.

THERE’S SOMEONE IN THE WOODS.
Holly leads her church's youth group, but many in the congregation believe she's too young to supervise the kids. When she finds out that she’s pregnant, the pressure is on, and her secret love affair will start to show.
But that’s the least of her troubles.
She organizes an overnight fellowship retreat on Pine Cliff Island off the coast of Maine, and six teenagers show up for a night of good clean fun. When the power abruptly goes out, no one notices … until one of the teenagers returns with a knife wound.
Most of the resident island snowbirds have flown south, phone service is nonexistent, and a madman stalks the night. Holly is the only one who stands between terrified teens and a lurking maniac.
The race to survive long enough to escape may depend solely on teamwork … and knowing who to trust.

This was an enjoyable read even though it had a few inconsistencies about it. The plot is a good premise and the characters are good.
I feel the tension in the plot but not sure the christian element was right for this or maybe a bit of fine tuning would have made this a fantastic read. All in all it is a good story and will look for more from the author.

I received this free from AXP books and this is my honest voluntary review.
