A cult classic that helps break the stereotype of high school cliques. You meet a group of teens from different walks of life that all end up in Saturday detention together and form a bond.

"As written to his son, Coates’s poignant and gripping essays that tackle race in America. The book has been a great resource when having the difficult and necessary conversations about race with teens and adults."

"I read it in my teens and it hooked me on mysterious China! I love novels about China and its history and culture, especially the story of women; so complex and colorful, and often so twisted, too."

This is a quick read about teens in Hollywood - but not all is as it seems. The main characters are from different walks of life and are all involved in this club promotion contest for very different reasons. They don't expect to make friends or even like each other, but unforseen circumstances bring them together for better or worse. Read the book to find out what happens! Recommended to young adult/teen readers that like contemporary books about teens that involve drama, relationships, a bit of mystery and glamour.

A modern teen romance that starts out as a quirky friendship. A mix of culture and social economic division between the teens. Finding common ground through a love of music and graphic novels.

Glorifying suicide (0 more)
Bad for Teens
Some think that this is to defer our youth away from suicide but it seems like the underlying idea is if you're unpopular and unhappy, kill yourself and then you'll be noticed by your peers.

I agree with you on that. Younger people don't understand that suicide is a permanent solution to all of your problems, which it isn't.
