The Dark Phoenix??

I have to begin by saying is I am glad Fox is done with the X men. This bad excuse for a Dark Phoenix story was by far the worst of the lot. I thought the Apocalypse movie was bad. They made one worse! I know there is only so much you can do in a movie but to call this The Dark Phoenix was not the right movie title. Maybe it should have been called X Men: The Alien Invasion. That's all this movie was...a story about Jean Grey getting the Phoenix powers and Aliens trying to get her and steal the powers to rebuild their race. That's the storyline. It seems there wasn't even an effort to tell the story half way right. But at the expense of going on a rant, Fox is done so maybe now Marvel can do the X men justice. My recommendation...don'r waste your time on this abomination.

Jesus. H. Christ.
It's 2019, and I've finally sat down and watched Sharknado, after hearing many years worth of friends and even random people tell me how it's the epitome of a bad-good movie.
That, my friends, is just a big fat badly-rendered shark of a lie.

There is nothing redeemable about Sharknado. The acting from everyone is awful and the special effects are laughable (Easily worse than a late 90s music video).
There are some scenes that just baffle me with their inclusion. Nothing really makes sense, and all of this would be perfectly acceptable if it was indeed 'bad-good' or mildly funny, but any attempt at humour made me want to tear my ears off.

I would say a hard avoid on this one, but I'm going to persevere and watch the whole lot of them, just to add a review here. Will they get better as they go on? Pretty sure they can't get any worse!

I've come to the conclusion that I don't particularly like Quentin Tarantino and this film is no different. There are many parts of this film that just seem to be screen fillers and don't provide much to the story whatsoever. It seems like an overload of so many characters, it feels like he's trying to tell 5 different stories at the same time and it's not working that well.

Additionally, the worst part of this film is the ending. Shoshana should've been recognized and I feel it was a huge failure to not have Landa know what she did. After everything he did to her family and all that she'd been through, he deserved to know. I also didn't really understand his plot, nor Brad Pitt's. This film feels very messy to me and not cohesive in the slightest. I don't know what it is about Tarantino but the more I watch, the more I dislike him.

The Avengers - Season 2
The Avengers - Season 2
1962 | Thriller
The second season of The Avengers is a show going through a transformation following the departure of its original star. The results are understandably a bit uneven sometimes, with episodes made in a range of styles - some are very ambitious globe-trotting spy capers, others more routine detective stories, while a few approach a more recognisably quirky and whimsical Avengers style. Production values are equally variable and often primitive: there are many technical mistakes and actors sometimes appear in multiple roles.

The three Dr Keel episodes are easily the dullest; the ones with singer Venus Smith are better but still often clumsy and slowed down by musical interludes; you can tell that the producers very quickly realised that Mrs Gale was the character with real potential. All the best episodes feature Honor Blackman and you can see the chemistry between her and Patrick Macnee growing from episode to episode. Not quite yet a classic TV series, but on the way.
