Adam and Joe are two of the best "indie" film makers out there. Adam brought one of the horror genres newest icons to life in the form of Victor Crowley and Joe has been responsible for a pair of my favorite independent films with the births of Mayhem and Everly. But did you ever wonder how they got their starts in the film industry? Or what it takes to make a horror film? Or how some of your favorite actors writers directors and people involved in the industry got to be where they are today?
This pod brings it all to light. They hold nothing back and tell all things. Both good and bad.
With awesome guests such as horror icons Kane Hodder, Sid Haig, Bill Moseley and Ray Wise as well as fellow filmmakers the likes of Darren Lynn Boussman, Adam Wingard and Ti West. The boys leave no stone unturned as they bring everything to the table.
The pod is also welcome to subscription through Patreon with some cool little gifts to those who want to donate. Including Film commentaries once a month, first come basis viewer mail questions and Hollywood tell all answers to industry questions in a segment called Ask Dr. Arwen, named after Green's Yorkie and fellow show host.
I would recommend this Podcast to anyone who wants to learn the ins and outs of the film world told from a perspective that is understandable to anyone. And it's good for a few laughs as well. I've been a devoted listener since 2013. And the vast library of webisodes is available to anyone via iTunes and other podcast generators.

I am sure some children will not remember that there was a pandemic? Well, this book "Giving Hope: A Child's Journey Through a Pandemic" is a good one for children of all ages. Young children will be wondering why things have changed and why they can not see their friends and family.

This book does that through the eyes of a child or children. I am not quite sure; This is where the half star (moon) comes in, in my rating of four and a half stars (moons). Otherwise, this book does explain all about the emotions they will go through, from being worried to many others.

These diary entries are well done; Talking about what is going on with children and what is happening around them. Each one occurs with an emotion. This book is good to have around to explain the feelings going on during a stay-at-home order or lockdown, as many have called it.

This book can teach children who are all essential or heroes during this difficult time. This book is not just for a pandemic situation. I could be used to guide during other struggling or difficult times ahead.

The pictures are very bright and vivid. They do tell the emotion or emotions the child is feeling during that diary entry. The drawings are lovely throughout the book. There are some ideas that children can do to help with the changes and maybe even get in though with family during a hard time. Can your child or children come up with something you could do to bring hope? Maybe even come up with some ideas to do around your neighbor and show them or tell you to care while trying to stay safe.

Not really for me.
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is a short story collection, with tales of reaping what you sow. Of being held accountable for your actions, whether recent or a long time ago.

I think what I struggled the most with was this: the whole book is 85 pages, and there are 24 stories in this collection. So they are VERY short, some only a page or two. And I wanted to get my teeth into them a little more, but couldn't.

Each story is well written, from various points of view. Some are aacrier than others but I read them all. I didn't find myself with a favourite, though. I didn't see any spelling or editing errors to spoil my reading.

It really was just the SHORTNESS of all the stories, that I struggled with. I was just getting into them, and boof! All finished.

What I wanted to know, was where did the mirror come from? How did it come to be in everyone's presence?

I am curious to read something else by this author. Something longer and deeper. I tried to read another short collection some time ago, but didn't get very far with that one and it was only coming to write this review that I clicked it was the same author. So reading a longer book, will tell me one of two things: I like this author, but only their longer work; or this author is not for me. Time will tell.

I did finish the collection, and was suitably cringed at some of them, so:

Hattitude is an amazing, beautiful, inspiring book with a TON of hats. Hats are so cool and versatile, you can wear one almost anywhere, and with all the patterns in here, there is literally a hat for every occasion: formal diner to snow day, university lecture to yard work. Hattitude has a hat for everyone.

The patterns themselves vary in yarn type and needle size, so between the various patterns that you catch yourself drooling over and the millions of kinds of yarn in the world, you’re pretty much set for life. If you find that you don’t have the needles you need, you’ll probably have a second choice (possibly a third or a fourth etc) to make to hold you over while you get those other needles because of all the awesome hats in here.

The hats range in all kinds of yarn: cashmere, wool, acrylic, chunky, chenille, that bumpy nubby stuff, and wool for felting. Some have cool décor like beads, sequins, ribbon, buttons, appliqués, giant buckles, and pearls. And some are more simple, with a few color combos, or some pattern work.

There are patterns for all levels, too! You have to be the judge of what you can or can’t do, though, since it doesn’t outright tell you “beginner level” or “advanced level,” but as a knitter it’s pretty easy to tell if you can do something. Read the pattern. If it doesn’t make a bit of sense, get help or pick another and come back to that one two years from now. Some patterns have only simple increasing and decreasing, some have some more advanced shaping and cables, and some have some complicated lace work.

As far as the layout of the book, Each pattern has a full front face photograph on one page, and the pattern opposite with a smaller photo from a second view point, so you get a full look at what you’re making.

The only reason I’d give this one four stars rather than five is… there are also some really weird hats in here. I don’t like all of them. Some of them I’d never make, and it’s just because they’re not my style at all. Maybe they’d look good on someone else, maybe someone else will like them. The book is, again, versatile, and will please a wide range of knitters, all with different likes. The downside of that is, I don’t think anyone can be fully pleased because nobody is going to like every single pattern. However, the good outweighs the bad here: there are way more patterns that I like than patterns that I don’t like.

All in all, I’d recommend this book to any knitter who has had some experience in shaping and working on double pointed needles and circular needles. And of course, anyone who drools over hats.

This is how you adapt a book to a tv show!
A Series of Unfortunate Events is one of my all-time favorite book series and when I found out Netflix was going to be making it into a TV show I'm not going to lie I was excited. The books are just so fun and strange and wonderful that I really wanted to put full faith into them to do a really good adoption and let me tell you I was not let down. From the very first opening of the very first scene you knew they were going to stay true to the book. The set design was absolutely perfection the casting was even better somehow Neil Patrick Harris meet such a perfect Count Olaf and the three actors that played the baudelaire children you're absolutely amazing.

I blew through the first season in the first day in one sitting because I just could not stop watching! I wanted to cry because of just how an amazing of a job adapting the books. It was almost word for word correct abd what was changed was foe the best and I didn't mind at all!

And best of all they kept all the dark humour of the books!

Also they ended on thw perfect book/episode.

A book that will put you through your paces, you will go from laughing, to hanging on from the edge of your seat to sobbing.

These books have been a part of my childhood, growing up reading these books and following Harry, Ron and Hermione through the ups and downs of their adventures.
Rowling knew what we all wanted but instead she gave us the book that we needed instead. As much as we wanted all the characters to live on and be happy, she knew (and we did too) that to complete Harry's and everyone's journey that certain sacrifices needed to be made. As much as I tell myself that those characters aren't actually gone I understand why Rowling did what she had to (doesn't mean I have to like it).
This last book tied everything together beautifully and I don't think any of us could honestly thank Rowling enough for not destroying the story as some authors accidentally end up doing. She kept true to her characters and the story and took us all on a journey.
Such a sad but beautiful way to end the long story, I'm thankful she let us all be a part of it with her!
