"Fellow physician Larry Dossey made a risky leap in 1985 by applying the new physics to medicine (the book’s foreword is by Tao of Physics-author Fritjof Capra). Mainstream medicine was still spooked and skeptical over the mind-body connection, and here was a doctor speculating on Bell’s Theorem and relativity, making connections between the quantum and the very basis of physiology. Seeing the human body burst into a cloud of subatomic particles thrilled me. No book has been more influential on my own writing career, and Dossey’s intellectual courage was an inspiration."

Black comedy wrapped in body horror
I love body horror. I always have. And I like Jeff Strand. He's funny and articulate, and his stories pack a hell of a punch. Benjamin's Parasite is no different. Benjamin, an unassuming English teacher, is infected by a parasite that both ravages his body and makes him want to do Bad Things. He's kidnapped by Julie, a beautiful but inept bounty hunter, as they're tracked across the country by people who want the specimen back.

Imagine Nick Cutter's "The Troop" if it was written by Simon Pegg. This is a really fun read, and I recommend it to anyone who isn't too squeamish and loves a good horror comedy.

the nature of the story allows for a large amount of chaos and gives Williams the an appropriate reason to play a child trapped in a man’s body.

"A life-changing book, Gay’s memoir tells the horrific story of how she was gang-raped aged 12 and the aftermath that led to her using her body as both a shield and an act of defiance."

I did enjoy reading this book. I felt as though a few too many things were left unresolved. Did however like Willowdean and her outlook on her body. I loved the group of somewhat unlikely friends and the self discovery along the way.

I wish I had this as a teen to explain the things adults thought were too...."inappropriate"...for me to know, even in regards to my own body. LOVED all the little illustrations and how caring the author was when it came to thoroughly covering each topic....like self-care and body image. It doesn't preach or spout the usual advice that sounds like a broken record - it actively seeks to get teens to think about themselves as more of their own person, instead of an extension of what others want to see.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you were transported to not only another world, but another body? Thats what happened to John. Now not only does he have to deal with an odd and disgusting body, but a malcontent book fairy, a crazed warlock friend and sexy creations. He must also find out what the god shard inside him is directing him toward.

The first in a historical mystery series set during the US Exploration Expedition of the early 1800's. Wiki Coffin, half New Zealander half American, is hired to be a linguist. But the night before they sail, Wiki finds a boat with a dead body inside. The woman was murdered, and there is reason to believe that the killer is with the expedition, especially when another body turns up. The historic details slowed the book down at times, but on the whole I really enjoyed the story, the characters, and the trip back in time.
