Chasing the Italian Dream

⭐️⭐️⭐️
A summer escape she'll never forget . . .
Lucia has worked hard as a lawyer in Wales, aiming for a big promotion she hopes will shortly come her way. Finally taking a well-earned break at her grandparents' house in southern Italy, the sunshine, lemon trees and her nonna's mouth-watering cooking make her instantly feel at home.
But she's shocked to learn that her grandfather is retiring from the beloved family pizzeria and will need to sell. Lucia can't bear the thought of the place changing hands - especially when she discovers her not-quite-ex-husband Giacomo wants to take it over!
Then bad news from home forces Lucia to re-evaluate what she wants from life. Is this her chance to carry on the family tradition and finally follow her dreams?
I liked this more than I thought I would it’s not something I normally pick up and thought I’d be bored with it but it was a pleasant read. Definitely for those who love a summer romance.

Little Ray Of Sunshine (41 KP) rated Tau (2018) in Movies
Jul 4, 2018 (Updated Feb 10, 2019)
The main woman Julia as end up in a bad situation where she sleeps with men to steal their belongings to get money to survive and this is where Alex finds her and kidnaps her the reason he kidnaps her is that he needs a person for a project. So he offers Julia a billion pound if she does it for him.
I felt their characters was gonna fall in love (but that's me with my soppy lovey dovey head on lol) but sadly it doesn't end well for Alex because while he goes to work Julia is befriending the computer programme Tau she is doing this so Tau is on her side and she can escape from the building to freedom.
I really loved this film and can't wait to see more what Netflix Originals brings out.

CKD (37 KP) rated Heads You Win in Books

First, thanks to St. Martins Press for sending me an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
Second, I loved, loved, loved this book! I first started reading Jeffrey Archer's book in the early 90s when my husband introduced me to the Kane and Abel series. After reading that series, I was hooked on his writing style and the stories. I've read pretty much every single one of them. This one was one of his best. If you read the Clifton Chronicles, you may remember that Harry Clifton is a writer and he "wrote" "Heads You Win". This book, like all of his others, get you hooked almost immediately and don't stop until the last word. This tells the story of Alex and his mother, Elena. They escape Leningrad by flipping a coin to determine whether they head to London or New York. Upon their arrival (I'm not divulging where they end up), the story continues playing out their lives in their new home.
Fabulous book....down to the last sentence.
