Suswatibasu (1703 KP) rated The Fishermen in Books
Oct 10, 2017 (Updated Oct 10, 2017)
Like most classic African novels in the Achebe-Ngugi tradition, The Fishermen mixes the traditional English novel form with the oral storytelling tradition, dramatising the conflict between the traditional and the modern. It is rather depressing but poignant.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Recurve (The Elemental Series, #1) in Books
Jan 11, 2021
It had promise but parts felt rushed and the lack of a good love interest put me off too. I thought she might end up with Ash, and I suppose that COULD happen in later books but with what happened in this one, I can't say I'm that bothered to find out.
I don't think I'll be continuing the series.
