Not a page turner
This book promises a page turning, plot twisting, dArk and thrilling read but instead you only want the pages to turn to the torture of reading the book can come to an end.
The ending is well written and worth investing in but unfortunately the build up has been so bad that by the time the end comes, you just don’t care anymore.
There is a lot of promise but it doesn’t deliver.
You don’t care about the mystery letter writer, or the romantic entanglements because we aren’t given any reason to care for the characters until the very end.

I want to get this book to read but I was reading another book by Shelley Shepard Gray at the time. I was either going to wait for it to become free for my Nook or get it though the library. Well I was surfing my facebook or looking at posts that were coming to my surprise Shelley Shepard post Status update saying that her book "A Texan's Promise" was being able to download it free for that day or that week for the Nook at Barnes & Noble website. So I downloaded it to my Nook and started reading it. Now on to my lovely thought of the book.
I really like how the beginning starts in this book. We get learn about Clayton and Vanessa past though the book. We start to see how Vanessa Grant life become rattled and how things change rapidly. Clayton seems to care for her and her pain. He see her in pain and wants to get her safe. We get to introduced to Miles Grant and Vanessa stepfather a little bit. We hear about Clayton's side of the family while he and Vanessa are traveling on the trail from Texas to Colorado. Along the way, you meet a few of Clayton's friends. Their a new set problem that exist with old one between Clayton and Vanessa. You also hear about Miles and his struggles along with Miles and Vanessa stepfather problem is. To find out what they are and struggles each person as is suggest that you go and read it. Entertainment Editor (1988 KP) rated Twilight Struggle in Tabletop Games

The Struggle Is Real
Generally when someone in the board game community talks about a “thematic” game, there is a particular archetype they’re referring to–the science fiction or fantasy themed game with minis, elaborate artwork, and the promise of action, narrative, and adventure. Twilight Struggle does not look this kind of game. It’s set in the Cold War, has a functional but not flashy art design, and provides cardboard chits instead of plastic miniatures. However, Twilight Struggle is perhaps the most thematic game ever made.

Good story!
This game has a lot of promise! As a Harry Potter lover, I can't tear myself away! However, when playing, you get a certain allotment of energy to complete tasks. This runs out very fast, and so that tears me away for me... If the creators balance energy use a little better, I would definitely rate this a 10.
