Subpar sequel.
This movie showed a little promise towards the beginning, but steadily rolled downhill. Not only did some of the themes (winning vs. losing, children vs. adults) feel underdeveloped, it also seemed to contain more ambition than it was capable of satisfying. Given better thought (possibly different writers and director), this film might have been amazing. Instead we have something that feels like it was churned out rather than naturally progressing from the original film.

There were a few really dumb moments. Something that got on my nerves was the kids' tendency to run to their dead friends (and congregate around them) while in the enemy's line of sight. They were also paired with bombs that went off if one partner died or if they were too far apart...the latter witnessed in a nonsensical scene about a third of the way into the film. In this scene, one of the kids makes an irrational action that is in complete contradiction to her fears.

As I reached the third act, I found myself less interested in what was onscreen than I was in it finally being over.

The twists between the 3 dialogues (0 more)
Captivating and unique
I was really captivated by this book and it’s sequel. I like the complexity of the 3 intertwined stories and how they unravel throughout. I didn’t find it difficult to follow or get bored which often is the case with teen fiction.

The story follows 3 very unique girls with unique abilities, you never quite know what the story is going to throw at you. I was surprised by most of the twists and really enjoyed not knowing. Each girl really draws you in, each in different ways, there’s no way to have a favourite (at least I didn’t have one).

You will feel their pain but also their joy, I really hope more books will be released as I thoroughly enjoyed every moment and personally wished that the books were longer and in more depth.

If you choose to read this book you need to take your time and get to know each person as they all have a massive impact on the story and they will provide better insight into everyone else. I promise you’ll love this book as much as me.

Die Hard (1988)
1988 | Action

"I have to mention this as one of my favorites. I’ve been lucky enough to work with [producer] Joel Silver. It rewrote the rules on the modern thriller. It set the stage for the expectation that every question needs to be answered, and it has to be big, fun, and emotional, and a movie that can do everything. I try to do Die Hard in every movie that I do, by fulfilling that promise of delivering from the first frame. Obviously many more movies have done that — like Hitchcock — but as a movie that potentially could have gone many ways, it became a masterpiece. Before this movie, you could potentially believe that the bad guys are just bad guys; they don’t have motivation or are dumb. This guy had smart plans and dialogue, and set the bar high. Other movies have met it, but this was one of the first ones and I was blown away when I saw it. As much as I’ve liked other movies, at that time, Die Hard has had more of an influence on my work than the other ones of the time."

I'm new to Ms. Johnson's work, but I won't be for long! I truly enjoyed this beautifully written novel. It's the 3rd book in her Keys Of Promise series, but it was still highly enjoyable, despite not reading the first two books.

In this novel, Ms. Johnson weaves the perfect combination of faith, hope, and love, along with beautifully depicted historical elements. I was instantly captivated from page one and this book took me on a whirl wind ride until the end. Catherine and Tom both stole my heart for the long run, and I loved following their story!

Ms. Johnson created a story well worth 4 stars, for sure! This is a quick, beautiful read and I am already anxious for more! I can't wait to go back and read the first two books in this wonderful series, and I look forward to adding Ms. Johnson among my favorite authors list! Well done, and bring on the next! <a href="http://cafinatedreads.com/?p=13719"; target="_blank">This review was originally posted on Cafinated Reads</a>

It took me a moment to get into it, but I promise you after I kept reading it just got better and better. I loved the ending, it was absolutely wonderful and a great read.

This book has a three characters view. Zelie , Amari, and Inan. Each chapter you get to see how these characters grow and become stronger and show who they truly are. I personally love Amari and the strength you get to see from her and how she grows as a character.
Zelie is such a strong, brave, and talented women, absolutely enjoyed how this character grew stronger as I read further on in the book.
Inan, I cant express how much I love this character. I looked forward to reading his view, he such a mystery and it wanted me to read more about how this character was going to plan out in the story. I cant wait for the next book to come out. I look forward to it cause this story had me hooked to the point I was pulling the book out at work!
