The Boogeyman is back
Carrying on from the same night as the 2018 film, much as Halloween 2 did. There are a lot of ties to the first two original Halloween films. This features characters, and some of the same actors who were kids in the first two films. Along with some flashback scenes set in '78. It's a nice touch.
There isn't a great deal of depth to the story as such but Michael is one lethal killing machine. The scene when faced with a whole fire crew is pure carnage. A little sub plot of the town coming together as a mob to tackle Michael was a bit silly. By the end you know Michael is pure evil and sets up for Halloween Ends next year.

Hilary Westfield takes on Captain Blacktooth one last time, this time for leadership of the Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates. However, there is much more at stake since the Mutineers are plotting once again to take over the kingdom, and this fight might be the only way to stop them. But can Hilary rustle up any kind of pirate crew for the battle?

While I knew the broad outline of the story early on, I had a wonderful time getting to the end. The characters are charming, and the plot moves quickly with a few surprises along the way. I could hardly put the book down. I also loved the humor of the book. I’m sorry to see this series end, but I’m so glad I found it.

This middle-grade novel is the first released as part of the 'Journey to the Rise of Skywalker' series of books.
The story features Poe, BB-8, Rey, and Rose. Rose, by far, was the worst part IMO, but, I can't stand her useless character at ALL. I wish the character would have been Finn instead.
This crew is gathering supplies for the fledgling Resistance, when they receive a distress call from a remote planet. They have short adventure, thwarting the First Order, and, of course, recruiting more people to the Resistance. Time will tell if this was a necessary read after seeing the film.
The best part of the book was how thirsty the First Order is for Poe. At one point, a First Order officer remarks that they'd know that magnificent Poe Dameron hair anywhere. It was hilarious, and my favorite part of the entire book.
