I remember that, in 2013 the song 'Let it Go' was everywhere,

And I do mean everywhere.

Which is perhaps why I never actually saw this movie at all, thinking it wasn't for me, until it was shown on TV over the Christmas period.

This is based loosely on the Hans Christian Anderson tale 'The Snow Queen', and introduces the characters of Anna and Elsa as well as Christoph, Sven and (of course) Olaf, who continues the Disney comic-relief tradition of stealing nearly every scene he is in.

Lots have also been made over the years about how it replaces the typical Disney convention of true love between a Prince and a Princess with that between two sisters: this is true, while it does also make room for a more conventional romance sub-plot to bubble along underneath.

"This film is so well-written and so beautiful. I’m so inspired by the way Fassbinder used the maid, a character who doesn’t speak but is always listening and always present in the room. She creates such an energy; it’s a very smart way of using a character. I tried to do that with some of my own scenes in The Square by adding a museum guard. I’m obsessed with details, but then I see someone like Fassbinder and think, oh, come on! Why did I put all this energy into that when it doesn’t matter anyway, because the film is about something entirely different? I can get very jealous because he’s so smart that he doesn’t even have to be obsessed with details."

Mrs Lowry & Son (2019)

It's Grim Up North
Biographical drama about the artist Lowry (he of matchstalk this-and-that fame); based on a stage play and it really does show. Middle-aged clerk Lowry works by day, tends to his clinging, unsympathetic mother in the evenings, and paints at night. Not entirely unlike a variation on Steptoe and Son, only without any jokes.

Well-played, naturally, and well-staged, naturally, but the scenes of the two of them in a small room together, with her crushing his dreams and obsessed with petty social concerns, quickly become repetitive: the brief sequences with Lowry articulating his thoughts on his art, occasionally recreating his paintings, are much more interesting. Watchable but a bit dull; doesn't really do Lowry's art justice.

This will my last review until next Monday- September 2nd. Im taking a little break. So no reviews all of this coming week.

Ready or Not will make you questoning things, the end expectally will make you questioning things. I wont go into spoilers.

The plot: Grace couldn't be happier after she marries the man of her dreams at his family's luxurious estate. There's just one catch -- she must now hide from midnight until dawn while her new in-laws hunt her with guns, crossbows and other weapons.

Its a mixture of clue, the hateful eight, game night, escape room, cube and the saw franchise.

I would wait for it to come out on dvd, their is no rush to see it.
