"There’s a whole wave of Latin American fiction that I didn’t encounter until later in life. In high school one reads grand narratives like Don Quixote, and Garcia Marquez was the closest to contemporary we got. This felt like watching the movie Ghost World; there’s something very exciting and fun about the quotidian in it."

If you've seen the the movie quarantine this is the better orignal Spanish version which is way better version i thought the American version was okay but I wanted to see this version for a long time.
Manuela velasco plays a tv reporter who is filming a fire crew on call out to an incident at a apartment building when all hell breaks loose. For me Manuela is excellent as the reporter also a real life reporter in real life. The rest of the cast are good the make up so realistic. The movie had me on the edge of my seat thru out the 70 mins runtime. Sometime maybe I should watch the American remake again

"Nonfiction that reads like Jackie Collins, “Air Guitar” is the contemporary classic in cultural criticism, and further to that, more of a celebration than a critique on the cringe-worthy. You might never love being American more than after you read this. The section "Unbreak My Heart, An Overture,” has loosely defined my practice and life."

"I was stunned when I read this book in the 1976, and not just because it was the first book I read by an Asian American woman. Hong Kingston wraps family history around myth and discovers the ghosts of woman who have traveled through time into her own life. I felt those ghosts and went looking for mine."

"This is another terrific piece of journalism written years ago about an even earlier time. It’s a portrait of the city of Boston during the racial strife of the ‘60’s and ‘70s. Lucas tracks the lives of three families — African-American, Irish, and upwardly mobile Yankee — to bring the struggles of that era back to life."

This is a unique hybrid of poetry and prose, mixed with both historical fact and fiction based on the true life story of the famous American outlaw William Bonney, who was better known as "Billy the Kid".
