Who Should Be Presumed Guilty?
It’s the weekend before Christmas, but Meg isn’t basking in the season. Instead, she’s helping her grandmother, who is putting on a conference in town. The theme is about helping the wrongfully convicted, and many of Meg’s friends and family are presenting. Not everyone is on board with the topic, however. In fact, one of the attendees is known to be extremely vocal that all those convicted are guilty. So it’s not too surprising when he turns up dead. Can Meg help figure out what happened?
Yes, this is a Christmas entry in the series. And we get plenty of Christmas spirit as we read the book, even if the plot doesn’t tie into the season. But, at this point, I’m not sure what else the author could do with the season plot wise. I do wish the choir had sung some religious carols in one of the scenes, but that’s a minor complaint. The plot itself was well done with plenty of suspects to keep us guessing. And Meg and the rest were great to be around as always. In fact, I was impressed by just how many of the regulars got to play a part in what was happening. We also got some laughs along the way. Meg’s many fans will be happy to sit down with this book.

I specifically left this book till December to get me into the Christmas spirit.
I love reading short story collections, it’s a great way to find new YA authors and sample their writing.
‘I’ll be home for Christmas’ is a collaboration of UKYA authors and their stories of young adults and what ‘HOME’ means to them. I loved that this book has several genres including science fiction, Horror and Contemporary with such diverse characters. We have refugees, race and sexuality being explored and there was something for everyone to enjoy. I obviously had my favourites in this book and it was surprising that it was the horror, it was so intense and atmospheric and definitely got my pulse racing and that was Claws by Thomas Becker. There was not one story that I disliked in this book and after each story was finished I was left wanting more. I will definitely be purchasing my own copy of this book. There are 15 short stories/poems in this book including a competition winner.
This book is heartwarming and heart wrenching at the same time and definitely recommend reading.
Stripes teamed up with the charity Crises for this book to raise awareness of the hardships young people are facing today. This book is definitely impactful and made me think of the people who are less fortunate and homeless, £1 from every sale is donated to the charity.

Christmas is the happiest time of the year. At least it’s supposed to be, Moms are expected to work tirelessly throughout the Christmas season to ensure that the holiday is absolute perfection for their families. The gifts are to be wrapped with precision, decorations hanging from every available bough, food that could be lifted from the pages of Bon Appétit magazine, all done without breaking a sweat. Tis the season for family and frolic, yet our Bad Moms are stressed beyond their imagination this holiday season. Why? Because their mothers have arrived.
This Christmas, Amy (Mila Kunis), Kiki (Kristen Bell) and Carla (Kathryn Hahn) are enter the holiday season feeling the pressure of Christmas present. With all that need to be done, they agree that this is the Christmas where they make the rules. Amy decides that they are going to have a low key holiday. However, that goes against the everything Ruth (Christine Baranski), Amy’s mom believes and expects as she arrives in a tornado of holiday perfection, trailed by her blissfully oblivious husband Hank (Peter Gallagher). Ruth is a perfectionist, a task master extraordinaire who expects no less from her child. Amy, tired of trying to get her mother’s approval, decides to change the traditions.
Kiki’s Mom Sandy (Cheryl Hines) is the clinging, overbearing type who’s behavior could be classified as stalker; if she were not Kiki’s mom. Sandy’s need to be close to her daughter crosses the comfort zone in so many ways. Kiki decides to see Dr. Karl (Wanda Sykes), the family therapist, who explains the maternal process of insanity in hilariously truthful detail.
Isis (Susan Sarandon) shows up at Carla’s house unexpectedly. She seems to only show up at Carla’s door when she has run out of money. She is on the other side of the maternal spectrum, the hands off type. Carla has had to fend for herself for years and expects her mother to take off without a moment’s notice.
I enjoyed the first Bad Moms, but I was hesitant to watch the sequel because there was a chance that it would not be as good as the first. I quite surprised by how much I enjoyed the movie. It made me snort laugh more than once. This is the perfect movie for a Girls Night Out. Grab your BFFs and head to the theater to take a break this holiday season!

I recorded this one off the TV, 'tis the season for made for TV Christmas movies after all!
Before the first advert break even appeared it was obvious how this film was going to go. It's not really a Christmas film though and there definitely aren't enough festively bedecked dogs.
The storyline is sickly sweet but it does at least give us a fun little romcom. It's a pleasant little film to watch but it isn't going to make anyone's top festive features. It's more likely to fit the bill of harmless film to watch while you put the decorations up or wrap presents.
Julie Gonzalo is a familiar face from lots of different TV shows, most recently Supergirl and she's no bad in the lead role, it's definitely her niece in the film that steals the show though, along with the floofs!

The Girl Who Saved Christmas by Matt Haig is a very charming story that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. It is the story of Amelia Wishart, who is the first child ever to receive a gift from Father Christmas. She never loses hope throughout the misery she encounters in her very young life and however much she would like to stop believing in magic and goodness, she never fully does. Her hope made that first visit possible, and, just a couple of years later, her hope might just save Christmas itself.
The story takes place in two locations that couldn't be more different: Elfhelm, where it is clean and only ever gets as cold as you want it to be, and in 1841 London, where it is dirty, cold and unfriendly place to orphans.
The characters in the story are quite fun. Amelia and Father Christmas both have strong personalities with a firm determination to get things done. Mr. Creeper is just as his name predicts, he is creepy and not a nice man at all. The guest appearances of a ruling head of state and a famous author are perfect. One passage was hilarious and it took me several minutes to sop laughing before I could continue reading. I was amused.
I recommend this book for read-a-loud's to children and for middle grade readers.

This one way okay. It’s an acceptable Christmas romance, but like I said before, I’m a bit younger than the type of reader this is aimed for so I may be the wrong person to be reviewing this.
It was quite entertaining and it did manage to keep me hooked through the majority of the book. However, I did end up skimming the final quarter just because I was getting bored of the plot and was ready to move onto a new book.
I think that this has the prospect to be a really good book, but I’m just in the wrong age group to manage to relate to a lot of it.

My I love this. It really keeps the holiday spirt a live. It is centered around Christmas season. Something happen about dozen years that though both Gordon and Margret. I love this book because it bring in the historical fiction with a romance that blooms though out the book.
The Campbell's do not realize that they hold a grudge towards someone. There son is hiding something as well about this injury. Though it all things get cleared up and worked though since there train was abandon because of snow and something else.
If you enjoy historical fiction or looking for one during the holiday season. This one is quite a pick and you get two in one with one.

Enjoyable Movie
I'm not usually a fan of remakes, but this one was pretty good. I enjoyed see old characters that I know and love drawn in a modern style. The visuals in this movie were great. It made me wish I could step into the movie, and celebrate Christmas with them.
Despite the visuals this is never going to be my favorite version. It lacks a lot of the charm the original cartoon has, and the Grinch in the new version isn't as good as the one from the live action movie. Overall I think the biggest thing hurting this film is that it had way to much to live up to.
