ArecRain (8 KP) rated Renewed Spirits (Wiccan Haus, #18) in Books
Jan 18, 2018
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first I have read in this series but it is certainly not the last. I thought this was going to be another cliche romance story involving a female wronged by a man for a stupid reason and a man tired of meaningless sex. Honestly it would have been if the author wasnt such a good storyteller. I enjoyed both the characters and environment. Their love story was a delight, reading their journey of learning what they need rather than what they think they need.

BookwormMama14 (18 KP) rated Gentleman of Her Dreams (Ladies of Distinction, #0.5) in Books
Jan 2, 2019
Miss Charlotte Wilson believes that God has brought her the perfect man to marry, Mr. Hamilton Beckett. But is he truly the gentleman of her dreams? Charlotte has devised a flawless scheme to snatch up the perfect husband. But does she have her sights set on the wrong man?
My review of this novella is short because I don't want to give away too many spoilers. I enjoyed reading this short prequel to Jen Turano's series Ladies of Distinction. It is light and full of humor! An excellent start to this series and I can not wait to read the first book, A Change of Fortune. Jen Turano has quickly become one of my favorite authors. After a Fashion is by far one of my favorite books that I have read this year.

Ross (3284 KP) rated The Darkslayer: Brutal Beginnings in Books
Jan 31, 2019
A fun short introduction
This 40 page novella is a good, fun introduction to the world of the Darkslayer, similar to a Witcher: a man who wanders the wilds slaying evil creatures for payment. Here we are introduced to Venir (and briefly his companion Melegal), a hard-drinking brute of a man who we find is known as the Darkslayer. He ventures out from the city of Bone into the wilds, partly to earn his keep slaying the wild Underlings (nasty little wild creatures who kill children and keep giant spiders as pets); partly to escape the morning-after realisation of who he slept with.
Not exactly high-brow literature, but a well told, axe-swinging, action-packed tale of one man against the wilds.
As with other series, this introduction was written some time after/during the main series and intended as a nice little introduction. I am expecting to meet some of the characters again as I continue with the main series.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2200 KP) rated Plum Pudding Murder (Hannah Swensen, #12) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Hannah finds another dead body, this time the man running the local Christmas tree lot. Yeah, the series is stuck in a rut, but I still really enjoy them.

Alicia S (193 KP) rated Reaper (Boston Underworld, #2) in Books
Sep 28, 2018
Another FABULOUS book in the Boston Underworld Series!! I was hooked immediately reading Crow and Reaper was no different.. Once day read, didn't want to put it down!? SO much more than just a love story, this series/book is packed with everything from hardcore Mafia dealings, torture and revenge, to scenes that had me bawling in happy tears. Some people are just meant to be together and everything falls into place. That is how I would describe Ronan and Sasha... Two very "different" people who are immediately bonded on some unseen level. They calm and comfort one another like no else has or can, they understand just what the other needs, without pushing. It's beautiful really... Ronan, that quiet misunderstood man we first met in Crow, has finally shed some of his protective layers and, for lack of a better word, blossomed into the man we now see. A man with a purpose and a plan.. To do everything in his power to protect the woman he loves. This book was absolutely incredible- LOVING this series!!! I cringed at the violence, cried my happy tears and surely got a good laugh with some of these guys and their comments.. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend book / author & series!!!
The Wonderful Man
Book
So WONDERFUL was he in his own quiet way that they made him a CROWN. And with this crown they...
Auburn (57 KP) rated The SoulNecklace Stories: Box Set (SoulNecklace Stories #1-3) in Books
Apr 10, 2019
This three box set series is exciting, thrilling, and one epic fantasy.
The series follows Dana a reluctant princess and Will a man who can see more in Dana than just the facade on the outside. Together they must save the empire and maybe each other along the way.
This is an epic fantasy that brings you in and makes you want to read all three books in a row. It is wonderful to have a box set that let's you do that. If you enjoy epic romance and an adventure to save a kingdom you will enjoy this.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Last Man Standing (Black Ops Inc., #7) in Books
Jul 12, 2018
This was such a great novel. I am truly devastated that this is the last novel in the series. The characters in these novels are inspiring and devastatingly lovable.
Cindy Gerard truly makes you feel emotions for each of her characters. Last Man Standing was yet another amazing novel that made me laugh, cry, and want to throw the book at points.
I do wish that more of the BOI's were in this novel but I felt like it wrapped up very nicely. Now I have to find another series that will fulfill my want for attractive Military men. Hmph!

Georgina DeBurca (2 KP) rated Sex, Wolves and Rock 'n Roll (Lyric Hounds #3) in Books
Jan 29, 2018
This is a slightly different style of book compared to others of this series. It's a male/male romance. And as opposed to leaping into hardcore man on man sex scenes, there is a lot of focus on the emotions. Don't get me wrong, there were romance scenes involving sex acts and they were written perfectly. But the emotions portrayed in this one kept me hooked til the end and I fell in love with the two lovers in this book.
Well written, as normal. No silly errors tripping me up. Good pace. Showed back story. Brought past characters into this story and showed more character development again.
Loved it.
5/5
Would definitely suggest to friends.

Dark Scary Stories
This movie was very good, i jumped couple of times. I thought this movie was rated R, because of some of the death sences, cut to the first one. But it turns out its PG-13 and man oh man that first death sence was terrorfying and horrorfying. Guilmoro Del Toro only produces this film, but i wish he also directed. He knows how to make monsters scary and make monsters look terrorfying. I didnt read the short horror series of books. So i went in not knowing anything. I do want to read then know, because of this movie.
I would highly reccordmend going to see this film because it is very good.
