Tales of Arise breathed new life into the Tales series with a revamped combat system that feels fun so that level grinding isn't a chore. It introduces two main characters Alphen, a mysterious man with no memories of his past who can't feel pain and Shionne a woman who can't be physically touched because of cursed thorns that erupt from her body. The story is about them and their adventure and the people they meet who become friends. The story itself is well told touching on topics like recognizing one's own privilege and understanding how they can genuinely help those in need. The artwork for Arise is beautiful and each character's story adds to the main story in the best way. It is a fantastic adventure that is a joy to play. Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

Ok, I get that it's a teen classic.

I get that it's one of John Hughes 1980s movies.

I get that it was Matthew Broderick's break-out role, and that the 4th-wall breaking nature of the movie helped lay the groundwork for 'Deadpool' all those years later.

I DON'T get the appeal of the movie: for me, this was forgettable, with the lead character an annoying jerk (who, admittedly, does have one good line about how life is pretty short) only out for himself, and who pulls his girlfriend and his best friend Cameron along for no reason other than to show off to - he doesn't even have the gumption to check how Cameron is at the tail end of the movie.

I've heard about people saying how it is, essentially, a wish-fulfilment movie. My only wish is that I hadn't wasted my time watching it.

I loved this - Anxious People isn’t so much about anxiety, but it is a book about mental health as a whole. It’s about finding a reason to keep going when you feel that there is no reason to keep going. It shows the strength and importance of human contact and understanding: how we can help those who are struggling with empathy and, sometimes, practical help.

But this isn’t a self-help book. Fredrik Backman weaves his magic and has written a book that has made me laugh and cry in equal measure. I keep telling myself that I shouldn’t like his books (please don’t ask me why, because I don’t think I really know!), but every Backman book that I’ve read has made me feel that humans are essentially decent and will come up trumps in the end. And we all need a bit of that sometimes, don’t we?

This is a novella that comes with an epic story! With an excellent storyline, world continuation, and fantastic characters, you enter the world of Razors, the Academy and those people who believe in the dream. Friendships are forged but will they survive the fires?

Elinor is a feisty woman, sworn to uphold her duty to the King. It comes out in the story that she can't be bribed and she won't look the other way. But being such a character in a field of deception and intrigue is not so good for your health, as Elinor finds out.

Fast-paced, with plenty of action, and a storyline to thrill, this is a novella to read and enjoy. A perfect coffee break book.

* I received this book from the authors in return for a fair and honest review. *
