Trust Me: A Novel

Have you ever read a book that left you in a complete and utter mind frozen state? On that you just sit and stare into space, wondering how could an author be that brilliant? Yea, that's me after reading TRUST ME. I mean, my God. I hadn't even heard of this author before but I sure am adding her to my ever growing list of autobuy authors, for sure.

Mercer's character was completely realistic. Her thoughts, pain of her own tragedy, confusion and passion to uncover the truth for her book about "Baby Boston", all became my own. I felt myself becoming her, wanting to write down my own thoughts on Ashlyn, the mother on trial and accused of murdering her own baby. I mean, seriously? I was like Ashlyn should have been named Casey Anthony. What mother could harm their precious child? Trust me (no pun intended!), when I tell you I wouldn't!

Reading this novel left me feeling like I just got off the most intense, most twisted,  most emotional rollercoaster ride ever (and that is saying something because I've NEVER been on a coaster before!). I felt like I would just begin to piece it all together and Ryan, with masterful skill, would throw something else into the mix. Magnificent! This novel is my top read of 2019 so far. It's brilliantly chiseled into a 5 star read that I will not soon forget. Psychological mind blowing thrills at it's finest, that's a fact!

*I purchased this for my own collection. All opinions, negative or positive, are my own.*

I absolutely loved this book. I laughed so much and I was so touched. Many times I felt like Anna was talking about me instead of her. I have many of the same quirks and thoughts about myself, especially while I was growing up. This book made me think, man we could be friends! Except for the freedom of potty mouth, which everyone who knows me knows sounds really dumb when I try to use cool curse words. I enjoy her acting, and now I am really impressed with what a down to earth person she is. And yeah, I hope maybe someday we'll meet, even for a moment, and I'll have the courage to be cool and say I loved this book to her face.

Through the first 2/3 of this book, I thought I was going to be disappointed - in fact, given how far I'd gotten without feeling particularly engaged, I think I can say I was in fact disappointed. But in the end, Wells makes up for it: not with any extreme plot twists or cheap literary tricks, but with a sense of profundity, with a moral. War of the Worlds isn't the Hollywood movie that came after it, or even the notorious radio show that caused the panic of a nation - instead, it's a novel about a man and his thoughts in the face of the worst disaster. It's a discussion of humanity, psychology, and morality, disguised as an alien adventure.

The story flows very well (0 more)
Unusual writing style which was hard to get into (0 more)
This book was sent to me as a Christmas present by my brother. When i first started reading it, it took.me two attempts to read the first chapter to find my flow with the writing style, as it wasn't written like any book I had ever read before. It is written more like a play or a collection of thoughts by various speakers. That being said I thoroughly enjoyed it, and found it is the type of book you keep going back to. The story flows very well and at time it is so descriptive you feel the anguish Mr Lincoln must have been feeling at the time of losing his son.

Emergency Contact was a okay book for me. It was different then what I usually read but hear are my thoughts on this book..

We have two character point of views, Penny and Sam's. I always looked forward to reading Sam's point of view since he had a lot going on for himself and that's what kept me going with this book. Penny was interesting but not as much as Sam. It took me awhile to finish the book just cause I felt like there wasn't enough "Drama/ & or adventure" between all the characters.

I did like the ending of the book, I was a bit worried on how it was going to plan out but the ending was good for this story.

Bad dog!
Cujo taps into a lot of those primal feelings with animals and relationships. Stephen King takes this St Bernard and turns it into a killer but he also makes you understand why the dog is acting the way that it is acting. You get to view the world through the lens of the dog's eyes and the through the dog's thoughts as well.

On the other side of the coin is the family that used to the own the dog and of course the Trentons. Both family are sucked into the horror and neither come out the same. This is a classic work of Stephen King's but it is tough to swallow if you are not ready for it.

I bought this book after a recommendation from one of my favorite authors but was skeptical when I saw a bunch of negative reviews on Amazon, especially criticizing the lead female character. WHY bad reviews, I have NO clue. I LOVED this book more than I can say! While I was not ok with the cheating aspect, the story was amazing. I loved the characters, fell in love with Kellan and found myself rooting for him and Kiera, just wishing Denny would leave.. People complained about Kiera's thought process and her highly sensitive ways and thoughts.. but I can only love her more for it, as she reminds me very much of myself. Another one day read for me and Im headed back in for Effortless :)
