Such a compelling story :)
I loved the themes of forgiveness and second chances throughout this story. I thought that Patricia Johns did a good job describing her characters, from their reactions to grief, finding happiness and finding their purpose in life. It was an engaging read that had a good storyline. I thought that the characters reacted well to the situations they were put in and some of those situations were quite awkward (I mean imagine having to interact with a former beau!).
I give this book 4 stars for the creative characters, second chances, and overall story development that kept me engaged throughout the book.

I loved these stories !
I especially was excited to read this book because some of my favorite authors are involved. I want to thank Barbour for having the creative foresight to know that sometimes I just want to read about a certain subject or location. It makes it that much easier to satisfy my craving :)
The stories in this book were great :) I loved all the various different ways the authors used to imagine preachers getting their brides. It was wonderful. I highly recommend this book and have actually bought a physical copy for myself.

A Great book !
I got totally engrossed in this story and truly learned some new things ! It made me want to read the other books in this series that Barbour Publishing is putting out. This was such rich historical story it was like being there! Kathleen Y'Barbo really made history come alive in this book and it is filled with adventure.
While it was not my favorite book by Kathleen Y'Barbo it really was a great read and kept me interested throughout the whole book.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars, for good history, lovely characters, and family focus.

Oh My Goodness.....
This book was absolutely amazing !!! I fell in love with the characters, they were such remarkable personalities. I don't ever reread a book but this one I will., I am actually buying this in hardback to add to my collection.
Pepper Basham did a great job of telling a story about two people from completely different worlds working together to help a community overcome their fear of change. I hope that this book has more to the series as I loved this little mountain community and hope to learn more from them. Thanks for the great book.

After three (?) months I've finally finished Gotham High and I have some thoughts.

1) Why the tweak to the death of Bruce's parents?

I mean, the Wayne's deaths are iconic why mess with it?

2) Why the role changes?

Uncle Alfred? What happened to the snarky English butler?

3) BARBIE GORDAN???

I think this explains itself and no, it never said this was just her nickname.

4) it feels like they dropped Alfred's husband in for the sake of look representation. I mean, he's only on a few pages and doesn't do much.

In all, this wasn't like what the trailer led me to think. It's not bad just really, really, really different and I'm not sure how to feel about that.

Easy to follow and thought provoking.

I didn't even make it to any of the exercises and I was already thinking about/more aware of how I let stress control me.
I love the idea of using playful exaggerations and a different voice to break the negative stress/thoughts. Imagining something happening to combat the self-created stress and smiling whilst I do it really appeals to me.....basically joking/making light of a situation.

Smile more, stress less is a great tool for anyone suffering from stress, anxiety etc it's broken down into manageable sections, without the judgemental "you must do this right the first time!" rubbish. It's easy to get to grips with and not weighed down with unnecessary long confusing words and tasks.

I'm shell shocked. From page one, I was drawn in, and I couldn't stop reading - I just had to finish, but it's my own fault for starting a new book at 10 o'clock at night! Back and forth, back and forth I went. What really happened; who's the suspect; is Nora an unreliable narrator; is Nora using her skill as a writer to create an imaginary version of the real story or is she piecing together what happened with how she wants to believe it happened? So many thoughts and doubts! I could not fully decide on one person to blame. The ending was believable and yet still crazy. Definitely glad I finally chose to give this one a read!

Riding The Bullet- is a underrated psychological horror thriller film based off of a stephen king novel.

The Plot: Ever since his father passed away, art student Alan Parker (Jonathan Jackson) has been hypnotized by thoughts of death. After his girlfriend, Jessica (Erika Christensen), breaks up with him, Alan attempts suicide but is rescued by his friends. The next day, he learns that his mother (Barbara Hershey) has just had a serious stroke, and he sets out to hitchhike to her hospital. Along the way, he meets a series of strange people, including sinister George Staub (David Arquette), who may be Satan.

Its psychological, horrorfying, thrilling, chilling, spooky, terrorfying and super underrated.

I would highly reccordmend this movie.

It's Grim Up North
Biographical drama about the artist Lowry (he of matchstalk this-and-that fame); based on a stage play and it really does show. Middle-aged clerk Lowry works by day, tends to his clinging, unsympathetic mother in the evenings, and paints at night. Not entirely unlike a variation on Steptoe and Son, only without any jokes.

Well-played, naturally, and well-staged, naturally, but the scenes of the two of them in a small room together, with her crushing his dreams and obsessed with petty social concerns, quickly become repetitive: the brief sequences with Lowry articulating his thoughts on his art, occasionally recreating his paintings, are much more interesting. Watchable but a bit dull; doesn't really do Lowry's art justice.
