The first thing that drew me in was the cover and then I read the discription and was very excited.
However, this story did not live up to it's potential. Which I am sad about, I really excpected more. There were places that felt like there were missing pages, emotions that didn't really seem to fit the situation. Also usually you see a gradual growing of the characters thoughout the book amd that was not the case here. The main character was just as immature as when the story began.
Overal the storylime could be great but it definitely missed the mark in my book.

I am a sucker for a fast paced, action packed, Christmas story and boy does Mary Alford deliver it in spades with this book. From the first page to the last I was enthralled by the plot, the characters, and the Christmas theme. While a little over the dramatic (not very dramatic, just a few instances that fit well with the story line), I enjoyed the characters struggles and the underlying message of God being able to forgive all our sins no matter how big or small. Definitely a good read and Mary Alford is a new to me author that I will look for in the future.

This collection of stories about a Cameo passed down by Queen Elizabeth herself was so fun!
It was cool to imagine that actually happening, and then to see how the characters acted through their stories was remarkable. Truly a great retelling of a legend in a family tree. Two of these authors were previously unknown to me and now I can't wait to research them and see what other books they have written.
I would definitely recommend reading this book. This is not the first collection by Barbour Publishing that I have read but I will say to date that it is probably my favorite.
