This is an old favourite of mine, set in the same world as Simon R Green's earlier Blue Moon Rising but just, well, seemingly missing something compared to that earlier novel.
I struggle to put my hand on what that something is, though.
In this, a down on his luck actor - 'The Great Jordan' - is hired to impersonate Price Victor, one of the three claimants to the throne of Redhart following the mysterious death of its former incumbent, and after the chaos of The Demon War, which is really only mentioned in passing, with a few cameos from characters from said war.
None of the three claimants, however, are particularly nice characters ...
Cue a mix of magic and mayhem, with an outsiders view of the politics played in the courts of those high in the land, a few twists and turns - some of which you can see coming a mile and a half off, but others of which you (or, at least, I) didn't the first time around.
Then again, I was in my early teens that first time around ...

I wasn't expecting to like this book at all. I chose it on the fly to listen to as an audiobook. I was not disappointed. It was completely humorous. The novel rotated through three points of view, Edward VI, Lady Jane Grey, and Gifford Dudley. It definitely borrowed from the likes of the Princess Bride, Shakespeare, and Monty Python. There were some irritating parts, like when it quoted too much from those sources. In the end, I did really like it.

Too cold to go out
A disaster movie that takes on fu ride. We have seen volcano's hurricanes, tornado's,Tsunami's and even the earth's core stop. Now we have to deal with the oceans currents stopping and causing a new ice age. With any disaster movie there is death, suspense and a hero or two. This provides all three but with a twist. we don't stop the disaster. One reason why I like this movie. How they survive that's for you to see

The second book of [Amethyst Eyes] by [Debbie Brown] continues the story of Tommy as he comes to terms with who he is. The story picks up three years after the first ended. I liked how the events on Earth that were considered critical could truly be identified as the Japanese Tsunami. I do not know if there will be another books since this one came to a resolution but as we all know one resolution always leads to a new story.

Why did I keep reading?
The answer is because clearly, I'm a bit masochistic. I have a strong opinion that while the occasional footnote is appropriate, if you use too many, you need to edit what you are writing. Gurwitch doesn't just use them a little too much; on each page of the book there was at least one, if not two of three.
Realistically, I also couldn't relate to much of her stories, which only made it more difficult to continue reading.

To be honest, the first time I saw WW, I was honestly disappointed; my expectations were clearly set too high. The second time I saw, I enjoyed it far more as I knew what to expect and was able to enjoy the movie for what it was. DC must be ecstatic that WW did well. I can't imagine they could have kept their cinematic universe running for much longer if this had been a dud like the previous three movies.

Classic Halloween Disney Movie
This movie is so good. If you like movies that give you 90's nostalgia with all little bit of tame creepiness, This movie is for you. The three witches are so hilarious, and the child acting isn't half-bad. Yes, it is sometimes cringy, but if you like those old cringy Disney Channel kind of movies, I definitely recommend you give this a watch.
