Why did I keep reading?
The answer is because clearly, I'm a bit masochistic. I have a strong opinion that while the occasional footnote is appropriate, if you use too many, you need to edit what you are writing. Gurwitch doesn't just use them a little too much; on each page of the book there was at least one, if not two of three.
Realistically, I also couldn't relate to much of her stories, which only made it more difficult to continue reading.

I am currently reading this. I'm on the second Massacre Island chapter. The first couple of chapters were not relatable nor enjoyable but reading about the previous generations of her family and their questionable life choices, careers, and hobbies was somewhat entertaining. I'll probably continue reading the book depending on how the next couple of chapters pan out. But it certainly isn't the best collection of essays/memoirs I've ever read.

Wonder Woman (2017)

To be honest, the first time I saw WW, I was honestly disappointed; my expectations were clearly set too high. The second time I saw, I enjoyed it far more as I knew what to expect and was able to enjoy the movie for what it was. DC must be ecstatic that WW did well. I can't imagine they could have kept their cinematic universe running for much longer if this had been a dud like the previous three movies.

Classic Halloween Disney Movie
This movie is so good. If you like movies that give you 90's nostalgia with all little bit of tame creepiness, This movie is for you. The three witches are so hilarious, and the child acting isn't half-bad. Yes, it is sometimes cringy, but if you like those old cringy Disney Channel kind of movies, I definitely recommend you give this a watch.

A comprehensive guide to AC/DC, the author Martin Popoff has succeeded in producing yet another work that is both engaging to the occasional listener of the group as well as the more hardened fan. Accompanied with images from throughout the group's long history, there is plenty to look at and read as well as having on your shelf or coffee table to reference during those late night "discussions" with friends over a drink or three. Recommended for the fan.

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019)
2019 | Animation
The weakest of the three, but still great!
While I absolutely loved the first two films, this one disappointed me a bit, but I still liked it a lot. Can't really put my finger on why though. Maybe it was the weak villain or the weaker story. The movie is still fun, funny & visually spectacular. Much better than the choppy Spider-Verse animation. It seems like this may be the last in the series, so I'm kinda bummed about that.

Woman power
While watching this movie, I was smiling and laughing at the humour throughout it. It promoted women as not the weak party among superheroes.
At the time I thought it might have been slightly rushed to finish and give it the ending the audience wanted but I can't complain because I've seen it three times in the cinema on the week it was showing.

I highly recommend this movie.

With Lindsay tracking a stomach bomber, Cindy follows up on a lead to a killer that got away. Meanwhile, Yuki is getting married.

This series is wildly uneven, but this is one of the better ones. Three plots make things a bit rushed at the end, and Claire becomes sidelined for much of the book, but it had me turning pages.

The first of the Airport disaster films. I remember seeing most of them on Sunday afternoons on TV as a young kid. Big budget blockbusters for the time with an all star cast! I think there were three sequels in the end Airport '75, '77 and '79 concorde! Check them out, still pretty good films and few disaster films about planes have been made since to this standard.
Not too mention it inspired two of the funniest spoof films (Airplane) as well!

Far from Perfect
One thing is for sure, I loved the topics of the story but I also think the author was trying to master too many things in one book. I loved that it talked about teen pregnancy, adoptions, and sexuality for young adults. Each of the characters had a lot of difficulties but they showed what its like to be a real family.

Shockingly good
I watched Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri after watching it receive a couple of awards. I was not disappointed.

This movie covers some hard topics - the pain a family goes through after the rape and murder of the daughter, the fact that the crime is unsolved, small-town interpersonal relationships, cancer, suicide, but still has the perfect script to make it a dark comedy. The actors all did fantastic jobs. I highly recommend this movie.
