Oct 5, 2020
Beth Porter's "Resident Aliens," gives us a novella, four poems and three short stories all focusing on the darker sides of post-war/post-depression era of New York through characters whose lives reflect it's less glamorous neighborhoods. Read my review of this unique collection here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2015/10/09/gritty-new-york-stories-and-poems/

NOTE: THIS Beth Porter is the author of ONLY "The Net Effect" and no other books attributed to her on this site.

Kristina (502 KP) rated Buttons and Pain (Buttons, #3) in Books
Dec 7, 2020
Buttons and Pain ended on a note so sweet, it could have soothed any craving for the rest of the day. I was a bit surprised by how happy the ending was, but I can't say I'm disappointed. So many important things happened in the course of these three books that the changes in Crow were both quick but welcome. Their story was long and full of drama, so it was nice to see things work out the way they did.
