Here's to a Deadly St. Patrick’s Day
Once again, these three authors are teaming up for a holiday themed novella collection. This time, their stories are set around St. Patrick’s Day. In the first story, Leslie Meier’s character, Lucy Stone, is doing a story on four local Irish dancers. Then one of their mother’s is murdered. Next, Lee Hollis’s sleuth, Hayley Powell, gets involved when the headlining comedian for the St. Patrick’s Day show dies after proposing a toast with his Irish coffee. Finally, Barbara Ross’s Julia Snowden is enjoying a stormy St. Patrick’s Day in with friends when they start talking about the local unsolved murder from 150 years ago. Everyone has a theory about who did it, but can Julia figure it out after all this time?

Since these are novellas, each story is roughly 100 pages, giving us a good taste of the series and characters before we move on to the next one. I enjoyed all three of them. I do struggle some with Leslie Meier’s entries in these anthologies, but I enjoyed it overall. On the other hand, I am considering starting Lee Hollis’s books because I continue to enjoy their entries in the series. Barbara Ross’s series is one of my favorites, so it’s is no surprise that I loved her entry. All three stories do feature good characters and an intriguing mystery. Lee Hollis and Barbara Ross include recipes with their stories, so you’ll have several traditional Irish recipes. This is a great book to sit down and enjoy with a mug of Irish coffee.

it was a wonderful read!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

3 stories, about three young men, finding themselves in 1812 London.

I found these easy reads, not too taxing on the emotional or angst side, and they were a welcome change after a couple of books that were high on both scales.

I loved watching each man fall, in a way they did not expect. Given the time, these men could have been hanged if they were caught, but what I liked about these was THAT particular fact wasn't too stressed. In some historical books, those things are shoved down your throat on almost every page, but not so here. Oh it's mentioned, don't get me wrong, but it's mostly in passing, what might happen if they get caught.

The three shorts aren't particularly explicit, but they are really rather sweet in the steaminess level. I liked that, a lot. And they were all a bit different, so that was good.

Two things stopped me giving it 5 stars.

This is the first I've read of this author. I'm not sure if it's her general style, or just these books, but it was very WORDY. Lots of words used to describe things. I found it a bit off putting in places, to be honest.

And I found the three shorts kinda ended, totally out the blue! Very abrupt endings, that threw me!

The short bonus chapters made up for some of it, but still.

WIll I read more by this author? Possibly.

4 good stars

For those LONG car rides.
I downloaded this app when our family if five was making a trip from our home in Tampa, FL to Myrtle Beach, SC. We have three kids very close in age so I downloaded a book to see if they would actually listen and not fight the entire ride. They loved it. Hardly a peep out of them the whole ride. Now they ask to listen to a book any time we are in the car for a while.

Thank you to the author for send me a copy of this book in return for an honest review - this in no way influenced my review as you will see.

I had absolutely no expectations with this book having never heard of the author or of the main character, Emily, but have to say that I was a little disappointed especially having seen the many 4 and 5 star reviews it has received.

The first three-quarters of this book was brilliant. The scenes were set perfectly, the suspense was building to crazy proportions and my heart was racing at times. The book was let down by it's ending and the introduction of Vic. I wanted there to be a twist, the first one, where we learn of the relationship between Ashley and Mark was good and unexpected, but the second one, the addition of Vic, was poor and ineffective. A pretty good book overall but could've been better.

Solid gold
I've been listening to this soundtrack for the last three months. These songs struck a chord with me since I heard "This is me" in the first trailer. Though I bought it knowing only one song, I was not disappointed. Each song is unique and positively catchy. It was enough, on its own, to prompt me to pre-order the film in 4k Blu-ray without having seen it yet.

Good not great
The format keeps this book from being great. First person present tense, again, is terrible. But in this book it is compounded by the fact that we read from 3 people's POV. "I" means three people, depending on the chapter. That was immersion breaking and holds the book back from greatness.

Otherwise, I loved the story, the characters, the magic. It was very good, and felt shorter than it was. It read fast, it was never dull. I'd recommend this book to anyone.

The second book in Donald Jack's Bandy papers series, this is the novel that convinced me to read more of his works.

Set during the last year of the First World War (1914 - 1918), I have to say I found this book to be funnier than both the later installments in the series, and than the previous entry ("Three Cheers For Me"): indeed, this book was the cause of me getting some funny looks when I burst out laughing in work one lunch-time ...

Up there with the rest 9/10
For someone who has only ever watched the first three star wars movies from way back when and never seen any of the new ones, watching this was a first for me. But after getting some info that may be needed to watch this film from my husband I actually really enjoyed this film.

I love films that show the back stories of characters and I feel this did it really well.

May watch again some time soon.

This game is a must-buy for anyone who enjoys action-adventure games. It is the same game we all love from the first three entries in the series, yet with many updates (including the new leveling system, and social system). The new leveling system drives you to want to make good progress more quickly, and the new social system gives players rewards for sticking with a particular weapon, for example. Overall, a very good game.
