Rolling Stone's 87th greatest album of all time
As I've said before I don't really get concept albums and find I neither grasp the underlying concept nor do I tend to like the songs. I find the lyrics and music often locked in battle and neither truly wins.
The three parts of Another Brick in the Wall are superb, but I could have lived without most of the rest of the album. I realise this is a failing on my part more than theirs.

Rolling Stone's 65th greatest album of all time (489th in the 2020 list)
Superb collection of motown classics. Three full discs of some of the best soul and R&B songs ever made, plus the good old Christmas Gift album (which was also listed by Rolling Stone in its own right, so I listened to the same Xmas album twice in one week in June!). A diverse range of artists included, from Ben E King, Darlene Love, the Ronettes, Ike & Tina Turner and The Righteous Brothers.

Bone Tomhawk- is a decent western horror action film. The cast is really good, its just slow, the pacing is slow, sometimes nothing intresting happens, but it does get intresting here ansmd there.

The plot: In the Old West, a sheriff (Kurt Russell), his deputy (Richard Jenkins), a gunslinger (Matthew Fox),and a cowboy (Patrick Wilson) embark on a mission to rescue three people from a savage group of cave dwellers.

Its okay.

4.5 stars.

I still love this series.

Witty, paranormal, adventure/mysteries with Marnie and the team. If you haven't read this series yet and like the sound of it, I definitely recommend you buy it.

Long but oh, so good.

P.S. I'm still holding out for a Mark Batten/Marnie Baranuik full on romance--maybe possibly with Harry not minding sharing her or not in the frame at all, though I can't see that happening. Maybe in book three which I am dying to buy!

I took me a while to get into this but with no Internet for the past three days I've had to stick to paperbacks so I knuckled down with this.

I liked it but it didn't win me over fully. Some things I'd already figured out, some things seemed to be thrown in from left field and completely threw me off.

As for the romance aspect... I kinda like the thought of Sophie with Luca now instead of Nic.

I'm not sure if I'll continue the series...

I've been wanting to get into the Dragonriders of Pern series for quite some time, and tried on many occasions, starting various books. This is one of the reasons I've started in the 'wrong' place. Given the fact there was definitely some lore I felt I was missing which was probably given in the earlier three books. But saying that none of what I didn't know spoiled my enjoyment of this book. I got totally emersed in the world of Pern and look forward to returning.
