Hazel (2934 KP) rated The Seventh Victim in Books

I really love Michael Wood's DCI Matilda Darke series but this is a standalone thriller from him which is equally as good and no-less riveting but please be warned, it does deal with child murder and abuse so if this is a trigger, I would suggest you look elsewhere.
Mr Wood treats us to a cast of excellent characters that leap out of the page and grab hold of you from the beginning to the very end and whilst not all of them are particularly 'nice', they are all well developed and all have their place in the story and what a story it is.
Dark, disturbing, powerful, emotional, riveting and full of tension with a twist I didn't see coming, this is a must read for all thriller fans and my thanks go to One More Chapter, HarperCollins UK and NetGalley for enabling me to read and share my thoughts of The Seventh Victim.

Good One
This sci-fi thriller was captivating. The acting and cinematography were great. The storyline played out beautifully with a few little twists and turns. An interesting take on a technological apocalypse. Id have liked to have seen a slightly different ending, but I get it. This one is a very thought provoking movie. Nothing the kids can't watch(though they may not understand it all). Overall a great movie. Really worth a watch!

A decent survival thriller. Watched it on DVD so don't know how good it is in 3D. The cave looks amazing and steals the show really, otherwise it ends up follow a already well trodden path for this type of film and offers little new. I have to say as well why oh why make the English actor do an awful American accent, why not make his character English and save embarrassment!

OK Thriller
A decent very low budget UK film, featuring a few well known faces to UK TV audiences. The story is very basic with a group of residents held captive in a Tower block by a sniper. It has a few neat touches and surprises but is rather too predictable and some of the acting isn't great. Catch it on TV if you fancy a change from the normal run of the mill stuff.
When a neighbor's child is kidnapped on Halloween, it starts FBI agent Chris Miller on the trail of a terrorist attack planned for Thanksgiving. I got really caught up in this excellent thriller and had a hard time putting it down. The only warning here is the epithets used by the villains.
