Home Invasion with a twist.

This is one of those movies where I found you just can't trust "expert" reviews in because though they all hated it I've yet to meet an actual horror/thriller fan that didn't just love You're Next.
It really took the home invasion genre and gave it a gorey and all around fun change with a great twist that the helpless finale girl is actually a total kick ass survivalist that just plain old fucks everyone up.

One for Ring fans
Well been wanting to see this for a while as the first film was really good. This definitely feels like a low budget follow up which is a shame, but the cast is quite recognisable from other shows. It's more thriller than a horror with no scary or gruesome moments. Bit surprised at the bad reviews, if you like the other films you'll probably find this ok.

Beans and Chianti
Hopkins and Foster deliver a suspenseful thriller about a serial killer who is helping the FBI in tracking down the daughter of a US senator who has been kidnapped by and unteachable serial killer. The solo interactions between FOster and Hopkins get under your skin cause they are so dark at times. Hopkins character leaves such and impression it makes us want more and the movie does spawn 3 more movies about Hannibal Lechters life

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Happy Utopia Day, Joe McCarthy in Books
Jan 12, 2018
[Happy Utopia Day, Joe McCarthy] by [J.T. Lundy] was a fast paced, semi absurdist spy thriller. The very unlikely hero of Chris Thompson is seen as a typical everyman who wants excitement until he realizes what that may cost him.
The characters [Lundy] creates are entertaining as are the situations they get in. It made me laugh out loud but also think about a lot of things. A book that can be entertaining and thought provoking is truly a gem.

I feel like I may be on of the last people to have gotten around to reading this dystopian scifi thriller, but I'm glad I finally listened to it (I downloaded it off of Audible). While Cline's necessity to drop some 80s reference (however obscure) in what seems like every other paragraph started to feel a little forced by the end, it was still a rollicking good story, and any 80s kid will completely dig this.

Good plot line. Writing style was decent, but not stellar. I liked the unique protagonist, and the characters were likable. While I like the fact that their recruits had a variety of backgrounds and skills, some of it wasn't believable. Some of the characters were really good at semi-common skills, but still made me wonder how they ended up with the agency.

This sci-fi thriller turned out WAY better than I expected. The description only scratches the surface of this well paced Keanu Reeves flick. The acting was great and the cinematography/effects were just right. The story unfolds beautifully with plenty of twists and turns throughout. I only found a few things predictable but it definitely didn't take away from the thought-provoking intensity of the story. If you're a sci-fi lover like me you'll really enjoy this film. Worth a watch!

Interesting
Decided to look this one up when I saw the show coming out. Very captivating movie. Low budget but well done. The concept isn't completely original - government attempting to create perfect soldier, etc - but was definitely told in an interesting way. The acting and cinematography were good. I would've appreciated subtitles in the scenes where other languages were spoken, but, it is what it is. Overall a decent action thriller with a unique protagonist and storyline. Worth a watch!
