Nice

Plenty of big names in this survival thriller. The acting was very well done. The cinematography was shot on with just a hint if cgi on a few parts(barely noticable). The story was simple and straight forward - pacing was causing a problem and a rogue grizzly was out in the woods killing pretty much everything it came across(including people) and some folks stuck out there had to survive. Plenty of intensity that isn't overwhelmed by the people's back story. Not a big budget flick but definitely a good one! Worth a watch!

Good one

This thriller delivered. Another example of a movie done well even without a big budget. Donald Sutherland, as always, delivered a fine performance as did the other actors. The cinematography was ok. The storyline was unique and intense with plenty of turns throughout. Some parts were predictable but it didn't take away from the intensity at all. This movie poses many questions about the people and the justice system and how both are far from perfect. If you enjoy crime thrillers you'll enjoy this one. Worth a watch!

Gripping and dry

What I love about Jane Harper's books is the biggest character is always the landscape the story takes place in. Force of nature is set in one of Australia's cold and dark national parks, rugged and unforgiving and so the atmosphere is set. Take office politics up a notch to a brutal level and add intriguing and constant suspense and you will find it difficult to not read just another chapter. If you like crime novels Harper's and human and most importantly believable. Won't get a better thriller/crime novel this year

African supernatural love thriller

This is the first film I have seen from Senegal. It follows a girl who is in love but forced to marry into money, but love diesnt let go not even in death.

It is a slow burning artistic film and the paranormal aspect is almost a side project rather than the focus of the films which makes it even more interesting. This is a strange wonderful film and deserved of its cannes award

I'm not sure why, but ever since 2010's 'Salt' I've been noticing more and more of this type of thriller film, with glamorous actresses (and models) becoming the star, and with them nearly all set during the Cold War: Atomic Blonde and Red Sparrow both spring to mind.

This is Luc Besson's entry into that oeuvre, with Russian model Sasha Luss taking on the title role, initially forced to work for KGB and now looking for an escape from her (new) life: Russian Dolls within Russian dolls are a perfect metaphor for this film!
