"I love that movie. Also a political satire, but done so well. Tim Robbins wrote, directed and starred in it."

Hallucinations and Flashbacks
Jacob's Ladder- is a really great psychological supernatural horror thriller. Tim Robbins is excellent in this film.

The Plot: After returning home from the Vietnam War, veteran Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins) struggles to maintain his sanity. Plagued by hallucinations and flashbacks, Singer rapidly falls apart as the world and people around him morph and twist into disturbing images. His girlfriend, Jezzie (Elizabeth Peña), and ex-wife, Sarah (Patricia Kalember), try to help, but to little avail. Even Singer's chiropractor friend, Louis (Danny Aiello), fails to reach him as he descends into madness.

Its also super underrated, not alot of people talk about this film or know about this film. Its a must watch psychological twisted supernatural horror film.

"And four… oh, this is tricky. I’m just trying to go through them in my head. It’s probably easier to pick 30 favorite movies as opposed to five. It might seem like an odd choice but I really loved it, the Tim Robbins movie Dead Man Walking. I just thought it was such beautiful, emotional, thoughtful filmmaking, and I’m surprised it hasn’t taken a bigger place in the western film canon."

By far, one of the greatest films ever
Every now and again, you will find a film which you can watch over and over again and still like it as much as the first time you watched it, this is one of them. From Morgan Freemans narration to the overall acting of everyone in the film, you will find it near impossible to say a bad thing about this film. Highly recommended

"One of my favorite newer movies. It’s always been my favorite, but I don’t know how to tell you why. It was brilliant. And it was brilliantly acted and I was entirely taken by surprise, and I was in love with Tim Robbins. I was just in love with Morgan [Freeman]. I loved them so deeply. I loved them heated so deeply that — I can’t speak eloquently about it, Kerr. I love to watch movies and I don’t sit around and take them apart, you know?"

Great performances
This is yet another award nominated film that I've never seen, and this is definitely one that I'm ashamed of.

This film has some terrific performances from a stellar cast - Sean Penn, Tim Robbins and Kevin Bacon especially - and a brilliant supporting cast as well. The plot itself sounds like it could be a by the numbers predictable thriller, but in fact it turns out to have some good twists and is rather dark and suspenseful. It hasn't aged the best (or it just looks horrendous on Netflix), but as crime thrillers go this is probably one of the best out there.

"I guess you got to put The Shawshank Redemption in there somewhere, right? That movie was just so amazing. It’s a wild ride, because it’s very emotional. I just remember the line at the end where he’s like, “My friend.” There’s such an amazing friendship plot in that, and then there’s that line at the end that just makes you bawl your eyes out, you know? So, it’s like, get ready for an emotional… It’s very dark. He gets raped in prison. He’s getting attacked. But that story between Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, it’s just this friendship plot that runs through the movie. I just thought that was really powerful."

EPIC
One of the best movies ever made. The story of an honest banker who finds out his wife is cheating on him and is accused of her and her lovers murder is sent to Shawshank prison for two consecutive life terms. He is put through all the horrible things we hear about in prision. However he befriends an inmate who has been there for a long time who controls the smuggling of hard to get stuff in. Morgan freeman and Tim Robbins give Epic award winning performances in this suspenseful, dramatic movie that never has a dull moment in it. I dare you to try and watch it and take a bathroom break cause you just can't

Short Cuts (1993)
Short Cuts (1993)

"Robert Altman turns his multilevel, multidimensional auteur’s eye on the short stories of Raymond Carver, and creates one grim portrayal of Los Angeles culture that will leave you breathless. Many of the stories that make up Short Cuts could have spun off into TV series, so well drawn are the characters. Released after Altman’s smash hit The Player, Short Cuts came across as a disappointment, but after a recent viewing, I feel Short Cuts to be the superior and more lasting success. A killer cast that never gets in the way of the material has to be an all-time favorite of mine. With Tim Robbins, Julianne Moore, Robert Downey, Jack Lemmon, and Jennifer Jason Leigh."
