MERRY-GO-ROUND Love

I enjoyed this book, that being said. I was a little let down. Stephanie Perkins does an amazing job on getting the reader back to high school years and that first love. I could feel the butterflis while reading those passages. I was a little upset that it took so long for the characters to get together. They went round and round. Over all I would recommend this book.

Masterpiece!

This last offering before "Infinity War" basically softens the mood but we all know what's up next: Thanos' arrival. Chris Hemsworth clearly came out of his comfort zone in this film and it didn't all have to rely on him as Mark Buffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, and the always entertaining Jeff Goldblum held their own in scenes separate and together with the God of Thunder. A must watch!!

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Take My Hand (A Pine Cone Romance #1) in Books
Aug 12, 2018
Take my hand is a well developed contempoary romance of the accidental sort. The characters are an interesting blend and the secondary characters in the small southern town lend to the setting. This book provided laughs as well as warm fuzzies and perhaps a bit warmer feelings as well. It is part one of three books that three authors worte together each focusing on one of three best friends and their relationships.

This is an absolutely amazing book. Melissa has a way with pulling in the reader and making them care about her characters. In this book, you following Junie as she tries to first understand why her 4 year old daughter is regressing back to toddler-hood and then she takes you on her journey of discovering hidden things from the past which impacts everyone's future. Several different story lines come together with a surprising ending.

I absolutely loved watching this story about a teenage lad with autism looking for a girlfriend. In fact I binge watched the whole of the first season in one sitting. You really fall in love with his family as they work together to support this wonderful young man achieve his goals. It is both funny and moving and gives you a real insight into the life of someone with autism. I reccomend it!

AT (1676 KP) rated Demon Slayer (Kimetsu No Yaiba) in Books
Feb 27, 2020
The first volume of the manga series, Demon Slayer, is passable, but not great. The premise of the story was gone over quickly, then the main character was sent to train as a demon slayer, but not much was actually explained. I'm guessing volume 2 will seem more put together. I know that the anime is popular. Maybe the beginning of the story just didn't translate well onto paper in a short amount of pages.
