"It’s so lovingly conceived, every frame packed chock-full of beauty. Bill Murray is hilarious and tragic. Jason Schwartzman is a revelation. But the moment Miss Cross tells off Max Fischer, asking him what he thinks he’s specifically going to do with her if they get together, is one of the more chilling scenes put on film. After establishing a beautiful, borderline precious world where a precocious kid rules a storybook school, shit suddenly becomes real."

DNF @ 21%

I like straight-forward romamnces: boy meets boy/girl, get together, live HEA, the end.

I'm not a fan of complicated/family filled/not getting straight to the point stories.

I thought this book would be good and to start with I enjoyed it but it was taking too long getting where it was going, deviating into strange dreams that just totally put me off, hence me DNF'ing the story.

Totally not my sort of thing.

This is reminding me a lot of [b:アオハライド Ao Haru Ride 1|13571757|アオハライド Ao Haru Ride 1 (Blue Spring Ride, #1)|Io Sakisaka|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1333286264s/13571757.jpg|19152133] in the will they, wont they/please get together already! way. I love it, but it's also driving me mad! They were so close to kissing at the end of this and then he has to be an arse...

Off to start Volume 5!

Bit of a cliffy ending. Does that mean she is who he wanted her to be? Does that mean I have to go buy book 2 right away to find out?

Ugh!

I was really enjoying this until that last 5-10% when Cyrus finally admitted what he wanted from her. I'm not a fan of reincarnation to be honest but if it means that Cyrus and Logan will get together then fine, I'll get over it.

Hmm...well I like the idea of a reverse harem book and I did enjoy how protective of her they were but I didn't really get the rest of it. Near the end I was reading it and kept saying to myself: what is happening? They seemed to be coming together to go against Lucifer but then nothing actually ended up happening at the end when he showed. Confused...

I don't think I'll be continuing the series.

Daisy Jones & the Six
Taylor Jenkins Reid | 2019 | Fiction & Poetry

"The book centers on the meteoric rise of a rock band in the ‘70s and its lead singers Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, whose connection is as electric as the music they make together. It’s sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll, people!! The book comes out March 5, so you can pre-order it now… And the very best part?! Hello Sunshine is turning this into a TV show with Amazon Studios… so stay tuned for more updates!"

"It was our second record and we'd gotten considerably better, and were gelling a lot more organically as a group. Soul Food was essentially meant to be a compilation album and we had stumbled upon our own strange brew, and then with Still Standing we went into business together. We totally defined Southern hip hop for what it could be; it could be impact and nationwide. It's still a record I'm proud of to this day."

"Yep. A symphony of visuals comes together to communicate the essence of basic humanity. There’s no suitable combination of words to match the combination of cinematic choices that Kurosawa made here. I was lucky enough to see it on film the first time I saw it, on a big screen, with good sound, sitting next to my wife, who was also seeing it for the first time. That’s a combination of beauty that’s hard to replicate."

"To me, it’s just a very romantic story. It’s the ultimate, “let’s just drop everything and run away together” movie; the way the story was told was so unique. There’s one scene in particular where Anna Karina is on the beach, and she rolls over and she just says, “F— me.” To put that in a film in that time period — you just didn’t expect that to come out of her mouth. It’s titillating, I guess you could say."

"The plot of the novel is woven invisibly under you, and pulled out just as you are settling in. It is one of the best novels about a young woman that I’ve ever read. These moments of transformation and epiphany go by unnoticed by the outside world, but we have the privilege of being in Portia’s mind with her as she’s trying to figure out exactly how the world is put together and why people do what they do."
