Ondaatje once again uses his own unique story telling method which gives us bits of conversations, recollections, letters, documents, poems and stories into a puzzle-like collection. With this, the reader pieces it all together in order to get a full picture of who this relatively unknown character was, and in doing so gives flesh to someone with a skeletal history. I really enjoyed this!
The fact that it just kinda ended at the 95% mark, leaving me needing to know what happens at the party mentioned, may have affected my rating. I cant believe it just ended like that! I need to know what happens between them!
I loved James and Annabelle as a couple and I need to know that they get a HEA or at least get together in the next book. Luckily it's due out in a week or so.

Entertaining
I finally watched it. It was exactly what I expected- lots of action, betrayal, wicked villains and an intense story with lots of impossible situations. While this wasn't the greatest movie in the world it was highly entertaining. Sly and Ahnold do well together. I may be a little biased having grown up on their action movies, but my opinion here stands. Not sure how this one has sequels but I'll probably check them out, too. Worth a watch!

4.5 stars.
What an ending!
I liked this more than the first, more action packed and character development. It was nice to learn more about Sophie's dad and Cal.
I am so intrigued about what's going to happen next with everything; the Council, the Brannicks, The Eye.
I'm hoping that Archer and Sophie get some sort of happy ending and that maybe Sophie's mum and dad might get together again.
Right now I'm off to hunt for Book 3 online!

Dont try and piece together any semblance of a coherent storyline here, just sit back and let it happen is what I told myself whilst taking in this over the top Danny Trejo vehicle.
One thing going for it is that it never tries to be something it isn't and is of the pulp grindhouse nature that means thin plot and lots of blood and incoherent dialogue which you will absolutely love or loath, I was somewhere firmly in the middle.

Disjointed mini action film
A rather low budget, made for TV feeling film. There is not much of a plot. More a case of how can we put a few shoot outs together. The action is OK to be fair but the acting, wafer thin plot make this feel like half a film. Too many side plotlines don't add up to much. You're much better off sticking to something like @The Town (2010) or @Heat (1995)

A weepy number to end the weekend
This tale of love and loss takes us to the beautiful Island of Guernsey, where pig farmer Dawsey has been corresponding with Juliet. Juliet travels from London to meet the society that banned together over roast meat and literary greats, to fill the loneliness of the Nazi occupation of Guernsey in WWII. Juliet visits wanting to share their story, and instead shares their hearts and lives. A touching story of pain and healing.
