This is a story with two main characters who are both a bit broken and battered around the edges. Things move very quickly between the two, but then circumstances also push them together. With two very different gifts, they work together to try and find a Professor's missing brother, only to find that the 'case' takes on a sinister twist.

The prologue is written without using anyone's name, and because Chapter 1 is from Jake's point of view, I incorrectly assumed that it was to do with him. However, things became clear as the story moved on.

Well written, with plenty of twists and turns, as well as hot and sexy scenes, Breathing Betrayal shows all the signs of being the first book in a new series. I'm sincerely hoping that this is the case as I would love to know more about Jake and Mari. Definitely recommended for all M/M fans.

loved them both, together and apart!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

I should say, I'm UK based, so the 1812 war between Canada and the US is not really one I know anything about. Therefore, I cannot comment on the accuracy of the details in this book.

What I can comment on, though, is the story between Zee and Jesse and their struggle to cope during this war. I loved them both, together and apart. They are both strong people, emotionally, do deal with such a difficult time, and to come out the other side.

It's beautifully written, from both Zee and Jesse's POV. There are wonderful descriptions of the scenery in that part of the world. I really enjoyed trying to picture them.

It has some lighter moments, but some darker ones too. There was much that made me cry.

I haven't read anything by this author before, A quick look shows her books seem to be about couples in settings with a war backdrop. I'd like to read more from this author.

4 very good stars

I cant tell u why i dont like this series.i liked iron fist in comics.maybe beacuse with no costume i couldnt accept danny rand.not much back story shoddy put together and same old same old villian the hand.u have to have some one who is unique the first season like fisk in daredevil.who was amazing acting.or the purple man in jessica jones.but here they seem like they only made this to set up defenders.i liked the actor who played danny rand.

This is the 3rd book I have read by this author; the 1st book I read is Suckers which is not only a pretty good horror novel but an excellently written story about friendship; the 2nd is Insylum which is much more than it first appears. All 3 I have enjoyed as once again, Z Rider writes a great story with interesting characters whose stories weave together with ease.

[One Second After] was one of those books that the cover made me want to buy. I was not disappointed. So when I was in the book store and saw [One Year After] you know I had to buy it even though I have an unusually long queue of books to read. [William R. Forstchen] writes a compelling novel that makes me want to prep for disaster. The way humanity can either come together or tear each other apart is sadly something I feel is true to human nature.

What an awesome book! This book tells the story of the Rosati family who live in Tuscany. It alternates back & forth between 1944 & 1955. During WWII, the Rosatis were seen by the local villagers as Nazi sympathizers & many in their village grew to despise them. Then it jumps ahead to '55 as what remains of the family is stalked by a merciless murder who slits the family members throats & the extracts their hearts. All the characters' lives weave together in strange ways. This book will hook you from start to finish.
