Family ( Academy of Misfits)

You can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family...

But that’s crap.
I can choose my family.
I choose Eastern. I choose Ford. I choose Sonny. I choose Camden.
Four boys.
Four boys with broken, jagged edges.
Four fierce boys who have chosen me.
And now together we face my flesh and blood.
My brother, the biggest bully at Oceanside. My father, the most notorious criminal in the country. Both intent on hurting the people I love.
But they’ve underestimated me.
I’m Asia. I’m a fighter.
I carry the storm within me.
And with my boys by my side, we’ll face them head on.
Because we are the delinquents, we are the rejects, but most of all we are family, and family sticks together.
Always.

So it’s all finally come to an end for Asia and her boys! She’s finally going to face up to her father and hopefully save her brothers and friends! With Pink being kidnapped tempers are running high. This was a very good ending to a solid series. I really enjoyed it and I love Bea Paige’s writing style. Highly recommend.

A SUCKER FOR CHRISTMAS is part of the multi-author Tinsel and Tentacles series and it was brilliant! Simple as that.

Fitch and Shaun have been friends since Fitch was four years old, and they spend every Christmas together. He has one big secret though, that he can't share with Shaun. He has an Octopus animal spirit, but Shaun doesn't like them. This leads to both of them keeping quiet, when they each want the other. This leads Mandy, Shaun's twin sister, to intervene in hilarious ways to get them together.

This was fun and festive, with plenty of steam. I loved Fitch's octopus and the role he played. Every character in here is superb. Mandy is a character with a capital C, and I can't decide if I love her or if she drives me insane. I guess I'm in good company with Fitch and Shaun then!

This was a one-sit read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed every word. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

RED WOLF HUNTING is the second book in the Wolves Ever After series. You don't need to have read book one, although the characters are mentioned in passing.

Aileen is prepared to partner with Rory in search of the Golden Shield. Rory wants to destroy it as it could control him and the rest of his wolf-kin. Aileen wants to protect it and hide it from sight, as it is a family relic. Together, they need to retrieve it from those who stole it.

Aileen and Rory didn't quite grab me as much as Sterling and Myra did in Book One, but I still enjoyed their story. What I've found with Amberlyn Holland books is that the story revolves around the main characters getting to know each other - usually through trying times - and leading up to their relationship together, not the relationship itself.

It is Aileen's sister and Rory's partner next up so who knows where their story will take us?

An enjoyable addition to the series and recommended by me.

MACK is the sixth book in the Angelbound Offspring series and I would absolutely recommend you read it as part of a series. If you can't do that, then you NEED to read Kaps as this book is a continuation of hers.

The points of view change from Mack to Kaps and back again so you get a fully rounded story from both perspectives. They both want to be together but go full-on martyr when they both decide it's better for the other one if they're not. Gah! I wanted to bang their heads together!!

There are some interesting developments in this story, not the least being how Mack changes (I won't say more). There are cameos from others in the series, with Huntress and Gage playing a bigger role in helping Mack and Kaps see each other. I honestly can't wait for Huntress' book!

This was a great addition to the series and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

We have briefly met Justin during Marcus and Kelly's book. We know he's married to Sarah and 'might' be having difficulties, but that's about it. When the book starts, Justin and Sarah are just about to get married. Time flows fairly quickly at the start of the book as you get up-to-date with what is going on for them. Before you know it, you are in the main part of the story and all the emotions that go along with it.

Sarah and Justin both lose themselves and have to try and find their way back, but whether that is together or separately is yet to be seen. Outside circumstances and internal feelings and emotions stand in their way, together with the normal 'pressure' from family. Being young, married and having to live up to expectations is always a hard thing, especially when you are drowning in sorrow.

A wonderful story told with feeling and sensitivity, and a great addition to the Songbird novel. I really hope that Jane finds her own happiness soon. Definitely recommended.
