Great start to a new series
For those having read Vampire for Hire by J.R. Rain this is a must read. H.T. Night dives into the before it happens with this new series. Loved being able to see Samantha before she became a Vampire P.I
Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Buck Baxter, Love Detective (The Buck Baxter Mysteries #1) in Books

A little too short
I wanted this to be longer. It seemed to happen so quickly and the romance aspect didn't quite work for me. If it had had a but more of a build up I might have enjoyed it more but it was a nice little twist.

Jango's voice as the clonetroopers
Each of your clone commandos had different special abilities enabling them to help aid you in your quest in different ways at different times.
Every mission was different and presented you with alternative challenges and objectives. Lots of fun even replayed today.

One of the best games of all time!
Portal 2 was an excellent game when it came out. I couldn't get enough of it. I still fire it up every once in awhile to replay the campaign. Just wish Valve knew how to count to 3.

For my 300th book of 2015 this wasn't bad. The majority of the characters were quite good although I didn't like Lucas, Ben or Claudia.
It had a different twist to it that I quite liked.
Derek was a favourite in this but I felt that it was too short

This was a really sweet read but it was just soooo short! I really liked the characters and believe that they could be developed so much more. I would very much be interested in reading a full length version of this as it just lacked too much depth and emotion.
David Betteridge (327 KP) rated The Purge (2013) in Movies

Nothing ground breaking
The Purge was an okay film, you can tell it was filmed on a budget, but it was all just a little too predictable, when watching it feels.like its all been done before. Good thing was it was short and things moved along pretty quickly.
Debbiereadsbook (1087 KP) rated A Theory of Crystal: A Paladins of Crystal Novella in Books

far too short! I need more!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is set in the world of The Paladins of Crystal series, but can totally be read as a stand alone. It probably falls somewhere AFTER book 2, but given what happens at the end of that book, I couldn't be sure.
Still, a very enjoyable slide back into this world, thank you very much!
Yelena runs away, because she does not want to marry the Three Ys (loved that she called them that!) and push out babies by the dozen, thank you very much! So, she dresses as a man and finds herself working for three scholars trying to find the secret of the source of magic and power in this world. Oleks, Ivan and Dmytro are taken by the young 'lad' and his skill at sorting their garbled notes into order. But only when a midnight bath for Yelena turns into something else, do they realise, she is theirs. But the magic in the world conspires against them, and things become deadly for them all.
I loved this dip into this world, I really did. The cameo by The Grand Duchess Crystal was a surprise too!
I loved Yelena and her men. I loved how they grew into their relationship, getting to know each other for a time, even if the men thought Yelena was a boy. Once the ruse was discovered, however, they were ALL in and I loved that too.
It would be great, at some point, to catch up with this group, in the main books. I'd like to know how Yelena gets on with her studies now the guys won their prize!
My only niggle? Too flipping short! But any visit to this world, I find too short!
I can't wait to read the next main book, and hope I don't have to wait too long.
4 very good, but far too short, stars
