This book stressed me out! It was a bit jumpy and I was so frustrated at Phury just sort yourself out dude!!! Watching him go through so much was torture! I'm looking forward to finding more out about these characters was great to see Lassiter make an appearance too! Thor is back!!! This is a very good series I do prefer her Bourbon Kings!

Ugh... I HATE reading a series of books before the entire thing is released!! I just finished Cress and can I just say that it is going to be pure torture to wait for the next book?! At this point in thru series Cress is easily the best book of all. So many questions are answered and so many of the puzzle pieces have fallen into place. The end is a true cliffhanger...I can't wait to see how the whole thing ends. I hope that whatever the ending may be, the last book is just as good as this one. Meyer's writing & storytelling abilities have improved in each subsequent installment of the Lunar Chronicles. I can't wait to see how she wraps up the stories of all the characters!

A Dummies guide to understanding and quashing the worldwide drugs trade
What a fantastic book. Tom Wainwright manages to describe the global drug cartels as a business economic model which makes total sense. It is not just the violence and torture, it’s the revelations about the level of managerial stress. Running a drugs cartel, it seems, is not only a moral and legal minefield but a human resources, marketing and supply chain nightmare. The gang-centric tattoos that cartel foot-soldiers sport, were instigated to prevent staff jumping to another outfit or, worse, going straight.

Wainwright makes clear that those seeking to stop the drugs trade fail due to their insistence on treating it like a war, when they should treat it like a market manipulation. Such a clever book.

This was my first book by Max Henry but I've clearly been hooked!? LOVED this book! Not your typical love story... with everything from MC bikers to Cuban drug lords and murder. A dark read, with a few scenes that were tough to read.. abuse, pain, loss... so much packed into this story. There is also a beautiful love story in there... King comes from a good place, educated and with a loving hard-working family. He and Elena clearly have an intense connection and he wants nothing more than to save her without destroying his place in his MC. Watching the two of them struggle through was torture and that cliffhanger ending!? Oh, I will SURELY be back for the rest of this story - can't wait!! Highly recommended!!

Book #5 in Michael Arnold's 'Civil War Chronicles', this picks up not long after then end of the previous ([b:Assassin's Reign|16281347|Assassin's Reign (Civil War Chronicles #4)|Michael Arnold|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1373968716s/16281347.jpg|22383365]), with Stryker and his men off to retrieve a treasure from the Scilly Islands for the cause of King and Country.

Of course, agents of Parliament are also after the same treasure.

Meanwhile, Stryker's friend Capt Lancelot Forester is also sent deep into Parliamenterian held country in order to shore up the will of an outpost that is still holding out for the king ...

Surviving shipwreck, imprisonment and torture, the two distinct plot strands (Stryker and the treasure/Forester' mission) eventually mesh at the defense of Basing House, in another enjoyable entry in the series.
