Echoes of us
By S.H. Timmins
What happens if your life begins on the wrong side of right?
What will you sacrifice when secrets and money are the weapons of choice?
How do you combine memories and dreams to reshape the future?
You place your trust in the innocence of love, embrace the passion it offers, and never let it go.
Jolene and Cruz are childhood friends who were ripped apart by tragedy, tearing Jolene from her home and everything she knew. Now, in their senior year of high school, Cruz finds Jolene in her new life - a life she never wanted and will do anything to escape from. Together, they need to discover the secrets that forced them apart, to save Jolene from the dangers of her new family. Along the way, they find that a friendship born in childhood can become the love of a lifetime.
This is a new author for me and I have to say I enjoyed this book so much! Her writing style is so comfortable to read, the story is really good and you’re rooting for Jolene all the way through! It’s so sweet and endearing. I would definitely love to see another book following these characters!

I can’t believe that it was released almost 8 years ago; it feels that I saw the movie just yesterday. But a good creation never gets old. This is a fascinating love story filled with romance, unbelievable amount of patience and tragedy. The book itself is so well thought through that even if you wipe your tears while reading it (I know I did) the ending will still give you that “oh, thanks God” feeling. There is a little bit of confusion in this book due to past – present jumps, but more you read it more sense it makes. My biggest enemies in books are long chapters and this book didn’t disappoint me, chapters are not very long and divided into smaller parts, so if you like to read while on the go, this book is for you. I was glad that this book was made into movie, it really deserved it. Even though the books will always be better than movies, this book’s screenplay was really entertaining. In conclusion, this book is witty, entertaining and at the same time sad, so if you looking for something like that, give it a go and I think you will be pleased.
Lindsay (1717 KP) rated The Red Ribbon (True Colors #8) in Books
Oct 3, 2020
If you want to find some crime stories to read. This book can help with the craze. This series also will help with your craze for crime and historical events. This book is called The Red Ribbon. It deals with historical events evolved around clans and the courthouse tragedy in one county.
This story is slow when you begin. Though, it does get better as you read. The plot is more interesting once the action starts. The main characters are a bit interesting. The clans are more telling. Hearing about the story of a father's death and how it connected in the book. It brings out the more about the historical events of the true crimes and what happens at the courthouse that triggers it all.
If you are a historical fiction fan or crime fan this book, is for you. I hope you have the heart to take all the death and crime that takes place. Ava and Jeremiah seem to be pulled into trouble that may have all started with a kiss. But who kiss starts a feud between families and clans? Ava story reporting that starts it when there a rift. What may have brought on a courthouse massacre?

Lindsay (1717 KP) rated Journey To A New Earth in Books

Looking for a different kind of book that shows off kindness and friendship. I picked up a book called Journey to A New Earth that shows love and kindness through nature. It also shows it through the connection of each other.
This one is done beautifully and written well. They show that the light is shown through as all and we are all connected. Friendship and kindness are shown in this book. You can see what happens when something happens to another person or animal in this case.
What Penelope does to help Kobi is something we do not see often. But we should ask it something we all can do. We can listen to his story and maybe even help find his friends. We are from the same earth or place and we are all connected to the earth or and sky.
This book is also an exploration of what all new and what happens after a tragedy. We can all come together and work together. We can love and live together. Do you know that we connect through life-changing events and learn to find ways to persevere and save the earth through this? We are connected to each other along the way.
