Time Travel
Returning home the Enterprise crew find Earth under attack from a probe transmitting a strange signal. Discovering what the signal is, the crew now on board a Klingon Bird of Prey, after the Enterprise was destroyed in the last movie, must travel back in time in order to save Earth. Back in 1980's America, they must acquire some Humpbacked whales and repower the ship, to return back, to their own time. The movie has some comical elements as well as some educational, it's a fun story that is not only entertaining, but also opens your eyes to some very real subjects of the modern world.

I really enjoyed this book! But I would Highly suggest buying an actual copy of it!
I love all things travel and knew when this book popped up that I had to read it. For someone who has always wanted to go to Ireland but has yet to have the opportunity this book was a dream! It made my imaginations come alive with the descriptions from the authors. The only thing I wish was that there were pictures in the book.
Highly recommend for anyone who likes travel.
*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed with in are my own.

Reading fiction is a one way to escape today's harsh reality. However, sometimes you can also do that with a non-fiction book as well. From my experience, this is particularly true of travel books, which take us to locations both known and unknown, and see them through the eyes of another. In this travel diary by Roz Morris, we get all of that, and so much more, including large doses of humor. You can read more about what I thought of this book in my review here (which includes a cliffhanger for a future blog post as well). https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2017/09/16/the-guestbook-spy/

The Diary of a Great Adventure
It's easy to take for granted the shrinking of our world but Palin's book reinforced the need for us to appreciate first hand the connections between nations, and the people that maintain them.
The trip was intended to follow the route traveled by Phileas Fogg in Jules Verne's novel from 1872. The self-imposed rule was that airplane travel was not allowed so only trains, buses, ships and cars could be used. This was problematic for Michael Palin because in 1872 there were many passenger ship lines, while in 1988 there were almost none because of air travel. As a result he had to obtain passage on various cargo and container ships that normally don't accept passengers.
The large amount of sea travel is a negative aspect because it's limited how many interesting things can be done aboard a container ship, for example. In fact, a significant number of the 80 days are spent on board ships, and it gets rather boring.
However, it is a very human account of a famous journey.

Uneven Trip to Bali
It’s 2007, and Eat, Pray, Love is all the rage. Cyd Redondo’s clients at her travel agency are all looking for trips to Bali, inspired by the book. However, Cyd is shocked when she discovers her mother is on such a trip, a trip she won from Cyd’s rival travel agent. An incompetent travel agent. So Cyd races to Bali to help her mother. What will she find when she gets there?
I’ve enjoyed the earlier books in the series, but this one wasn’t a good. I was expecting the updates on family and set up of the trip, but even once Cyd reached Bali, the pacing was off. The usual mix of travelogue, screwball comedy, and mystery was skewed. Once the mystery really did kick in, we were off and running with lots of twists and a satisfying ending. We did get some great character growth. And I laughed plenty. Fans of the series will still find things to enjoy, but I wish the plot had been stronger.
