You go in either thinking that it's going to be amazing and that the world has missed out on a cinematic treasure, or you go in thinking it couldn't possibly be as good as the hype, neither of which set you up for a very enjoyable experience.

I think that this is genuinely the best possible outcome this film could have had. It has two wonderful lead performances, and although the emotional beats are undeniably cliche and there is little originality to be found, it never took me out of the experience. Definitely one of my favorites from 2020.

Also, J.K. Simmons is a treasure.

The......Goonies???

In a very Goonies style plot., light bulbs are lit in this heartfelt story about family and friendship.
Having basically recreated the main characters from the classic Goonies movie and reduced the number to 4 and exact key points used, it doesn't devalue it's predecessor but in fact shows homage to it in cheerful nods, colourful acting, and an understanding of what family means.

Finding ohana is a warm hearted family adventure I welcome with open arms.

Plot-
Finding Ohana is atory about family, set in Oahu, two city-raised siblings embark on an adventure after obtaining a journal pointing to long-lost treasure with new friends and pirate treasure leads them to reconnect with their Hawaiian heritage and save their families Home.

Well this sequel of sorts sunk without a trace. A DVD release featuring a fairly well known cast. It doesn't really have any links to the first film other than the plot is similar. Set in Hawaii as some divers are hired for more than just treasure hunting. Not bad but nothing great either, shame as I loved the first film.

Book Favorite

"She’s the children’s writer with whom I most identify. She said, ‘By some lucky chance, I remember exactly how I felt and thought at 11.’ That struck a chord with me. The Story of the Treasure Seekers was a breakthrough children’s book. Oswald is such a very real narrator, at a time when most people were writing morality plays for children."

A mix of drama, comedy and a real sense of adventure amongst a group of friends
Fun 80's adventure
A fun film from my childhood. It's very funny in places, the chemistry amongst the friends is great. Throw in some bumbling villians, a treasure map and clues to unravel make this a fun film all round.

One of the classics of English literature, this short story is also by the same author who wrote "Treasure Island" (amongst others).

What I found interesting, though, is in how Mr Hyde is described within: unlike the malformed gaint monstrosity that is familiar form TV and film, Hyde is actually described as younger than Jekyll and of a lesser stature, while still projecting an aura of evil.

Catan is incredible for replayability. You can play 4000 games and each one will be different. Simple rules keep the game mechanics balanced but also allow for variation. (0 more)
This is a game to play with people who play board games. Catan won't be a party favorite if you and your friends don't usually play tabletop games. (0 more)
An absolute treasure for those who like tabletop games

Fun simple game
Girlfriend picked up this tabletop game and I must admit it's a bit of a guilty pleasure. It's a delightfully simple game where you move the rooms in the labyrinth to get to the treasure. The difficulty lies in other players unintentionally ruining your strategy.

Great game for beginners, would recommend for younger kids and families.

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

My family and I have never missed an episode of the History Channel's series "The Curse of Oak Island". For 5 seasons, we have cheered along with and rooted for Rick, Marty, Craig, Dan, Dave, and the rest of the team of treasure hunters. We have favorite "characters" and discuss the show well after the episode has ended. We are looking forward to November 13, 2018, the season premiere date of season 6.

Each episode contains history, theories, and current attempts on the island. "The Curse of Oak Island: The Story of the WorldÕs Longest Treasure Hunt" by Randall Sullivan drilled deeper than the show has. Yes, pun intended. The show frequently repeats information but I found the book to be more direct and contains detailed information that spans the history of treasure hunting on Oak Island. It is an in-depth, well researched study that is able to answer questions and explain the details of what is mentioned in the show's narrative. It also answers questions you did not know you had. It is a wonderful companion for those who have watched the show or for those who want to start watching the upcoming season without watching the prior ones.
