As the title suggest, the book is the true account of the activities of medical pathologist Dr. Simeon and his secretary Molly Lefebure (who is also the author of the book) ,during the Second World War . The book describes several murder investigations during this time and it is interesting to see who ordinary crime did not stop simply because there was a war on. 

 Overall the book gives the reader a fascinating insight into forensics during WWII in England and is a definitely a must read for these with a interest forensics from this period.

This is the quintessential book about Ted Bundy, written by a former co-worker and friend. Ann Rule worked one of the later shifts at a suicide hotline, next to Ted. Rule was working with the police and everything to try to crack the Bundy murder cases. The book covers the motivation/what caused this to happen, i.e., an interesting childhood, rejection by women, etc. She was reserving judgment and thought of him as innocent for a while, which is very interesting to read about.
This is definitely a true crime book worth reading.

Based on true events about a multiple homicide in mid 20th century America, the book explores the reasons and the consequences of the event. The reader faces dilemma of being horrified and dispising the reasonless act of crime; pity to those left behind and lives lost as well as feeling simpathetic to the criminals and seeing their human side.
Capotes writing is brilliant. Nothing like his other famous work Breakfast at Tiffany's, but nonetheless no less breathtaking.
I recommend watching a movie Capote after reading to find out how the book came to be.

In cold blood is a true crime story about a family murdered in Kansas. The book shows us through the eyes of both the investigators on the case and their struggle for justice but also the criminals who justify the crime and their actions.

In cold blood opens you up to the reality of human nature. For these criminals to commit the murders of 4 people and not show any remorse is shocking. Towards the end of the book, there is a strong debate about how these criminals should be punished, life imprisonment or capital punishment which in this case was hanging. It brings up the question of morality and responsibility, of whether as humans we can play God and take a life?
