The protagonists of this story are Mizuki and her grandfather, and this novel is told from their perspectives. The first thing that I noticed was the different types of writing styles used. Mizuki is telling the story through a poetic writing style, and her grandfather through a different, more regular one. This story really shows what her grandfather had to go through, when he was young, after the bomb exploded, and it was a horrifying story to read. I was really touched by Mizuki’s grandfather’s determination, bravery and strength. He was truly inspirational.
I really loved the plot of this book, I was completely absorbed with this story, and it is a very quick read, that really “hits the feels”. 🙂 The story always changes, and the detailed descriptions of the events and the surroundings made me feel like I am on the journey with the grandfather. The chapters were quite long, but they were divided into smaller parts, and the pages just flew by. The ending of this novel rounded this book really nicely and left me very satisfied with the outcome. This novel has amazing illustrations, that allows the reader to see through the eyes of the characters.
So, to conclude, it is a really sad but inspiring story about bravery, loss and determination. I liked the characters as well as the story, I think it is breathtakingly beautiful and heartbreakingly sad. I think everyone should read this story, it is an eye-opening to the true horrors of war, and how it ruins innocent people’s lives.

Good Cgi (2 more)

Great Actors
All style and no substance
Another film that is struck down by the video game to big screen curse. Despite the budget, great cast and good special effects I just found the story uninteresting. I've not played the games, so can't comment how true to them it is. Shame as it had great potential. A nice looking film but without any depth to it.

Great cast (2 more)
Huge stunts and great Sfx
Amazing set for the oil rig
Better than expected
I wondered how good this could be knowing what happened in advance as it's based on true events. That actually makes it even more interesting and does show the back story of events well. The destruction of the oil rig and pyrotechnics are spectacular. The same director also did Patriots day, well worth checking out as well.

Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday was perfect.. No one could have done it better
Based on a true story and so well written.
The Perfect Cast Makes A Perfect Movie
Absolutely the best western IMO. It's not my usual genre but it is and will remain one of my all time favorite movies.

Production value is dramatically immersive. (4 more)
4 different POVs about one historic event complimented the story nicely.
The quality of the actors was incredible, although I wish Cillian Murphy's character had more of an arc.
Remarkable special effects!
Brilliantly & patriotically British.
I understand that it's a factual event, but the ending was an unsatisfying portrayal. (1 more)
The soundtrack built too much tension which created a few anti-climatic scenes.
Where time is the true enemy.
Dean (6926 KP) rated American Gangster (2007) in Movies
Feb 25, 2018
A great film with great actors and well directed. I watched the extended edition and it flew by for me despite being close to 3 hours long. It's not as violent or graphic as the likes of Casino, Goodfellas but it is as equally as immersing as those gangster films. The fact it is based on a true story makes it even more interesting. If you like gangster or mafia films you'll love this!
