Overall, this was an enjoyable series. There are a few story devices that I am over such as the cheating boyfriend and “one true mate” but the author has an easy style that, once you get into the story, the story seems to fly by. I didn’t even realize how far into the story I was until I had to set it down.

Derek and Claire are not my favorite couple. Claire comes off as a bit childish despite being 30 something years old, and, honestly, I felt her little pity party early on in the story that brought about the accident was poor storytelling. That being said, I thought Derek was precious in in subtle courtship of her. He wanted to make her happy but thought he couldn’t be with her so he left her little presents. I mean how adorable?

But I digress. The author is skilled with painting a clear portrait of the scenery events. While I wasn’t overly fond of her leads, I was still invested in their HEA.

Wow. I wasn't sure what to I was going to think of this, as several state it's not his best of stories, but as I'm a new reader of Lovecraft, I have nothing to compare this to, so I enjoyed it hugely!

The opening line of this story, <b><i>It is true that I have sent six bullets through the head of my best friend, and yet I hope to show by this statement that I am not his murderer,"</b></i> is enough to completely suck you in to the story. You'll find yourself getting lost in this piece of fiction, coming out the other side of it dazed, horrified and delighted.

This story has some of the best tension building, leaving you to decide what is happening to the ever changing Edward and his mysterious wife Asenath.

The hints to black magic and the occult make this story really ominous, dark and brooding. This is really a terrific horror story. If this isn't one of his best, I'm excited to see what his other stories bring!

Interesting True crime drama
A good drama based on a true story. A detective makes a decision to try and find a missing girl that will have repercussions for the case. The first few episodes were good as the police do the detective work to try and find a missing girl. They establish a suspect and try their best to find out where she is and what happened to her. The latter episodes deal with the court case and legal disputes over certain evidence. The beginning is like many other crime dramas, very tense trying to find a suspect and build up evidence. However the 2nd half of the series is bogged down by the legal red tape over the law of questioning suspects. Hard to believe that the law still hasn't been changed yet around this ruling. It is more interesting as it's a true crime drama though.

All style and no substance
Another film that is struck down by the video game to big screen curse. Despite the budget, great cast and good special effects I just found the story uninteresting. I've not played the games, so can't comment how true to them it is. Shame as it had great potential. A nice looking film but without any depth to it.

Amazing set for the oil rig
Better than expected
I wondered how good this could be knowing what happened in advance as it's based on true events. That actually makes it even more interesting and does show the back story of events well. The destruction of the oil rig and pyrotechnics are spectacular. The same director also did Patriots day, well worth checking out as well.
