The Craggus (360 KP) rated BlacKkKlansman (2018) in Movies
Sep 12, 2018
Spike Lee uses black comedy to showcase white horror in all its grotesquerie. BlacKkKlansman (2018) #Review
There’s a deep-rooted discomfort at the heart of “BlacKkKlansman” and it’s the fact that instead of being a historical, true story poking cautionary fun at the ignorance of the past, it instead feels like a howl of furious irony at the recidivism of modern-day America. Alicia S (193 KP) rated Monsters in the Dark (Monsters in the Dark, #1-3) in Books

Incredible.. I've only read one book before I would have considered "dark erotica" but after just finishing Pepper Winters Monsters in the Dark trilogy, my god I want more!? The story of Tess and Q completely messed with my head... the abuse, fear, power... eventually transforming into such love, a bond so tight, not even death could separate them. Beautifully written, I loved the connection & the feeling of true belonging.
AT (1676 KP) rated The Wedding of Popeye & Olive in Books
Nov 25, 2018 (Updated Nov 25, 2018)
The Wedding of Popeye and Olive had all of the main characters in it, plus a rich ex of Olive's that wanted to steal her away. She was kidnapped, and Bluto tried to get her back at the same time as Popeye. The story was short, cute, and stayed true to the Popeye characters. However, the illustrations were more modernized. I wasn't a huge fan of that change.
MissCagey (2652 KP) rated Battle of the Sexes (2016) in Movies

Steve Carell is amazing as always and Emma Stone does a convincing job of Billie Jean King. The fact that it is a true story and a piece of history makes this all the more enjoyable. Despite the stress and struggles her sexuality was causing and the pressure on her because of this match King takes it all in her stride. This film is definitely one to watch.

It is cast so well (1 more)
As the first film, it covers relatable topics with natural comedy.
A rare funnier sequel.
Proper laugh out loud moments, story is so relatable and the comedy doesn't seem forced. Check out this clip which is my favourite part of the film as it's such a true thing and I proper loved the chemistry of the guys in this scene.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
