Very good film (true story) about a southern white family takes in a homeless black child - teaches him about life and makes him welcome. Sandra Bullock is brilliant as the feisty mum, the little boy was good too (don't know the actor's name). Good family viewing and yes it might make you cry.

Nesher, who has a true understanding of the significance of this story, has the rare ability to make films about families that make you feel as though you’re part of them.

Abducted in Plain Sight
I sat down on Friday night and watched this documentary. From a dubious position, my wife wanted to watch it and i had doubts.
Was so good. Obviously its not everyones cup of tea but the way the story pans out is amazing. And if it wasnt true story it would be too far-fetched to make up a story like this.
I would seriously recommend this to anybody that likes true life crime movies and programmes.
I feel so sorry for this family and i would never spoiler any film as it would ruin and alter the vision experience you recieve

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2099 KP) rated Cowardly Clyde in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Life is hard for Clyde, the horse of a brave knight. But when the time comes, will he show true courage? This is a predictable but extremely fun picture book that kids and their parents will enjoy.

4 Stars ____
I received an ARC from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
This was a fast paced and very thought-provoking read. It was believable, dark, intense and mirrors numerous true life events. I highly recommend this book to those that are interested in family dramas that are gripping and well constructed.

The Chocolate Lady (94 KP) rated The Collected Works of Billy the Kid in Books
Oct 7, 2020
This is a unique hybrid of poetry and prose, mixed with both historical fact and fiction based on the true life story of the famous American outlaw William Bonney, who was better known as "Billy the Kid". I was afraid to read this book because I had heard about how it can leave you ugly crying. After reading it (and crying my eyes out) I was so glad that I decided to, it brings you so many emotions whether you're crying or laughing or even angry, the story stays true to real life and how real people affected by disease live the life they're given. John Green is an amazing writer and this might be his best work.

Joy, Love, and Childhood Wonder, A True Masterpiece
This is a simple movie that is a perfect representation of what a movie should do in the simplest way. It makes you feel something. It doesn't have an elaborate plot or idea. It is just two little girls living life with joy and some nature spirits. Yet it is the most emotionally invested I've been in a movie possibly my entire life. In a world full of sad news all the time and daily stress this movie makes me forget all problems in my life and just enjoy the spectacle of childhood wonder.

Alison Pink (7 KP) rated That Night in Books
Jan 15, 2018
Another great book by Stevens! Her novels are always quick reads. They are very easy to get hooked in to & the stories are always so true to life. I found myself rooting for Toni through the whole story. She was a likable character despite the guilt & accusations swirling around her & Ryan. I look forward to reading more of her work.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2099 KP) rated The Animated Man: A Life of Walt Disney in Books
Mar 9, 2018
I found this to be an interesting and balance biography of Walt Disney. The author played media critic a bit too much, which bothered me, but in the end I walked away with a clearer picture of a true American success story.
