I recorded this off Film 4, where the description stated it was about a lady that had made a significant invention. I was intrigued and wondered what life-changing, state-of-the-art object she had created. I nearly spat my drink out when it was revealed to be a mop but I was curious to see what happened to Joy and her mop. As you can imagine this is no action and adventure movie but it's a true story and kind of interesting.

It’s almost beyond human and beyond language. When I read it, I wondered how someone would interpret this story if they dug it up in ancient ruins centuries from now. Could it be true? What are we capable of in terms of cruelty and survival?"

So much potential. This story had the potential to be something different, chilling, memorable. Unfortunately, it was vaguely interesting. My attention swung between bored and engrossed, without the demanding need to know what happened next. My favorite chapters were those from Agnes' point of view; it was eerie to step into the mind of a psychopath. True, there was some gore, but nothing worse than Karin Slaughter has provided. Overall, I enjoyed Bad Karma, I just think it could have been so much more.
